      First, verify that your router is powered on. The LED under the power port should be steadily white. If it's flashing, power cycle your network devices (modem, router, and computers), powering them on in this order: modem, router, then computer. Next, check the cable connections, ensuring your computer is connected to ports 1-4 on the router and the modem is connected to the Internet port. Finally, temporarily disable any third-party firewall software to see if it's blocking internet access. If it was blocking, properly configure your firewall software to allow internet access.

      Ensure that the wireless network name (SSID) is the same on both your computer and the router. Verify that your computer is using the same security method (WPA2, WPA, or WEP) as your router and that you've correctly entered the Security Key. If you don't see your network name, move your computer closer to the router and refresh the list of available networks. If you see your network name listed then you have a range or interference problem.
