This document describes the VOICECADDIE SL2, a golf rangefinder with advanced GPS and laser measurement capabilities, designed to enhance a golfer's game by providing precise distance information and course insights.
The VOICECADDIE SL2 integrates both laser and GPS technologies to offer a comprehensive suite of features for golfers. Its primary function is to provide accurate distance measurements, including slope-compensated distances, linear distances, and distances to the pin. The device features GPS Pin Assist, which leverages GPS data to accurately measure the pin on the green and block out the back of the green, ensuring only the pin is targeted. The APL (Auto Pin Location) function automatically recognizes and adjusts the pin location, guiding users through golf courses with updated pin positions. When APL is activated, the pin icon changes to indicate its active status.
The device offers various measurement modes:
Beyond basic measurements, the SL2 includes Real Green Undulation, which displays green contour lines divided into 11 steps with 15cm intervals, offering precise green undulation information. The Active Green feature automatically converts the green direction based on the user's location, providing a dynamic view. Green Attack Info shows back green safe distance, as well as green horizontal and vertical distances, aiding in strategic play.
The Course Preview function allows users to view the course layout from the teeing ground to the green, guiding them through the overall course layout. This feature can be accessed by touching a specific icon on the display. The device also supports Course View Zoom and Green View Zoom for detailed examination of the course and green layouts.
The VOICECADDIE SL2 is designed for intuitive operation. To power on the device and activate both laser and GPS functions, users press the power button. The device's Mode Button allows users to toggle between Normal Mode, Pin Mode, and Tournament Mode after power-on.
The Laser LCD Display provides clear visual feedback, showing the measuring mode, slope indicator, pin mode, scan function, slope, actual distance, GPS signal strength, unit (meters or yards), distance compensated, laser operation indicator, and battery low status.
LCD Brightness can be adjusted in 1 to 6 steps by short-pressing the power and mode buttons simultaneously. The brightness level is visible on the numerical laser LCD display.
Unit Conversion between meters (M) and yards (Y) is achieved by long-pressing the mode button for more than 3 seconds.
Focus Adjustment is available through the eyepiece and focusing unit; users can rotate it left or right to adjust the focus for clear viewing.
For GPS Golf Mode, pressing the power button activates both laser and GPS. The process involves activating GPS, touching Golf Mode, searching for GPS, searching for a golf course, and finally recognizing the golf course. The display offers Yardage View, Course View, and Green View, which can be toggled by touching and sliding the screen left or right.
The APL function is activated by clicking the APL button in the 'My Voice Caddie' application. On the device, clicking the Green on the Green View screen converts to manual pin reloading status. To switch back to APL mode (automatic pin reloading), users click an icon on top of the manual pin reloading screen.
The device also features a scanning function, which can be activated by long-pressing the power button in Tournament Mode, allowing for continuous measurement of targets.
Proper care and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the VOICECADDIE SL2.
