The Davide e Luigi Volpi S.p.A. M3000 is an electric micronizer with a hood, primarily designed for applying pure herbicide without the need for dilution in water. The application process involves placing the machine handle on a flat base, inserting the motor support so the holes form a square, and then removing the disc protection before positioning the hood. The hood support is then aligned with the bores, and the upper screws are inserted. The hood is turned right and left to align the holes for the inner screws, which are then fastened.
Power is supplied by R-20 (1.5V) alkaline batteries, which are inserted into their compartment with the positive pole facing forward, ensuring the strip passes underneath them. The herbicide bottle, with its protective metal paper removed, is screwed into the machine in an upright position. A strap is then passed around the bottle and hooked to the fixing point. For comfortable use, a shoulder strap is attached to the machine's fastening handle, allowing it to be worn in a working position.
To begin application, the user activates button (A) on the front, lifts the locking lever (B), and waits for the product to emerge. To stop the application, the locking lever is lowered. It is crucial to ensure the hood is in a horizontal position before starting. Once the product flows regularly, the user should move forward at a steady speed without moving the machine up and down. The rotating disc must always operate horizontally and below the level of the crop leaves. The device should not be used on windy days, and care must be taken not to hit the hood to maintain its horizontal position.
