Warning for Disposal

It is prohibited to dispose of this appliance in domestic household waste. Several possibilities exist for disposal:

  1. Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. Separate collection for special treatment is necessary.
  2. The municipality has established collection systems where electronic waste can be disposed of free of charge.
  3. The manufacturer will take back the old appliance for disposal free of charge.
  4. Old products contain valuable resources and can be sold to scrap metal dealers. Wild disposal of waste in forests and landscapes endangers health when hazardous substances leak into groundwater and find their way into the food chain. Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste; use separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regarding available collection systems. If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater, damaging health and well-being.

Control Panel Functions

  • Do not overfill cylinders (max 80% liquid charge).
  • Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder.
  • Once cylinders are filled and the process is complete, remove cylinders and equipment from site, and close all isolation valves.
  • Recovered refrigerant should not be charged into another refrigeration system unless cleaned and checked.

Labelling

Equipment must be labelled stating it has been decommissioned and emptied of refrigerant, with the date and signature. Labels must also indicate that the equipment contains flammable refrigerant.

Recovery

When removing refrigerant, ensure all refrigerants are removed safely. Use appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders, ensuring the correct number of cylinders for the total system charge. Cylinders must be designed for the recovered refrigerant and labelled accordingly, with pressure relief valves and shut-off values in good working order. Empty recovery cylinders should be evacuated and cooled before recovery. Recovery equipment must be in good working order with instructions and suitable for flammable refrigerants. Calibrated weighing scales must be available. Hoses must have leak-free disconnect couplings. Before using the recovery machine, check it is in satisfactory working order, properly maintained, and that electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition. Consult the manufacturer if in doubt. Recovered refrigerant must be returned to the supplier in the correct cylinder, and a Waste Transfer Note arranged. Do not mix refrigerants in recovery units or cylinders. If compressors or oils are removed, ensure they are evacuated to an acceptable level to prevent flammable refrigerant from remaining in the lubricant. Evacuation must occur before returning the compressor to the supplier. Only electric heating should be used to accelerate this process. Oil drained from the system must be handled safely.

Transport of Equipment Containing Flammable Refrigerants
