This document describes the VR Real Feel™ Racing 3D Reality Simulator, a device designed to provide an immersive racing experience using a smartphone and a steering wheel controller. The system integrates virtual reality with physical controls to simulate driving in a 3D environment.
The VR Real Feel™ Racing system allows users to experience virtual reality racing by combining a VR headset, a smartphone, and a physical steering wheel controller. The smartphone, inserted into the VR headset, displays the 3D racing environment, while the steering wheel provides tactile control over the in-game vehicle. The system is designed to create an immersive experience where users can steer, accelerate, brake, and interact with the virtual world as if they were driving a real car. The app, available on Google Play and the App Store, is central to the experience, providing the game environment and facilitating the connection between the steering wheel and the smartphone via Bluetooth® technology.
To begin using the VR Real Feel™ Racing simulator, users first need to download the free app from their respective app store (Google Play for Android or App Store for iOS). The app requires Android 4.4 or above or iOS 9.3* or above. Once the app is installed, the steering wheel needs to be prepared by installing three AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the wheel. Alkaline batteries are recommended.
Before starting the game, it's advisable to optimize the smartphone settings for an uninterrupted experience. Users should turn off Wi-Fi and cellular data or put their phone in "airplane mode" while ensuring Bluetooth® connectivity remains enabled. Bluetooth® 4.0 (BLE) connectivity is essential for the steering wheel to communicate with the smartphone.
After preparing the smartphone, the user launches the VR Real Feel™ app and turns on the steering wheel using the ON/OFF switch on the back. The LED on the front of the steering wheel will flash twice to indicate that the batteries are working. Within the app, the user presses "SCAN" to connect the steering wheel via Bluetooth®. Once connected, the LED on the steering wheel will remain lit, and the word "GO!" in the app will brighten, indicating a successful connection. The app will not open without a successful Bluetooth® connection to the steering wheel.
The next step involves inserting the smartphone into the VR headset. The headset has a front compartment that opens by pressing two buttons (A and B) simultaneously. The self-adjusting frame inside the headset needs to be spread open to accommodate the smartphone securely. It's crucial to ensure the phone is held firmly. For some phone models, the frame clips might align with control buttons (like power or volume); included foam pads can be attached to these clips to minimize pressure and prevent accidental button presses.
Once the smartphone is in place, the user aligns the white line on the app screen with a marker on the headset frame to center the phone for optimal viewing. The headset is then carefully closed, ensuring the top button is locked. Finally, the headset is placed on the user's head, and the straps are adjusted for a snug and comfortable fit. If the headset feels too heavy on the nose, the center strap can be shortened.
With the setup complete, the user can start racing. The steering wheel features several controls: the (L) button for respawning the car, the (R) button for changing the camera angle, the (-) button for braking (slowing down), and the (+) button for gas (accelerating). Pressing both the (L) and (R) buttons together pauses the game. Users can press the (+) button to continue or navigate to the settings menu to adjust preferences. Once a race is selected, pressing the (+) button starts the game.
For optimal gameplay, it's recommended to start slowly and get accustomed to the car's feel and the track before attempting high speeds. The game may include special icons on the track that offer surprises. If the car starts "fishtailing," pressing the (-) button can help regain control.
The device requires minimal maintenance, primarily focusing on battery management and proper handling of the smartphone and headset.
For the steering wheel, three AAA batteries are required. Alkaline batteries are recommended. It's important to note that rechargeable batteries are not recommended, and if used, they must only be charged under adult supervision and removed from the toy before recharging. Non-rechargeable batteries should not be recharged. Users should avoid mixing old and new batteries, or different types of batteries (alkaline, standard carbon-zinc, or rechargeable nickel-cadmium). Exhausted batteries should be removed from the toy, and the supply terminals should not be short-circuited. For extended storage, batteries should be removed from the product to prevent leakage. The product should not be disposed of in fire, as batteries inside may explode or leak. If the LED on the steering wheel does not flash twice when turned on, it indicates that the batteries need to be replaced.
Regarding the smartphone and headset, users should be aware that the game's high-definition graphics can lead to shorter battery life for the phone, so it's advisable to start with a well-charged phone. It's also normal for the phone to become warm during gameplay. If it gets too warm, users should stop the app and allow the device to cool down.
If the Bluetooth® connection fails (e.g., the LED on the steering wheel doesn't light up after pressing "SCAN"), users should check that their smartphone's Bluetooth® connectivity is enabled and that Bluetooth® 4.0 (BLE) is working. Restarting the app and the steering wheel may also help resolve connection issues.
For a silent gaming experience, users can plug ear buds (not included) into their smartphone through the slot on the side of the headset. However, Bluetooth® headphones are not supported because mobile devices cannot simultaneously connect to both Bluetooth® earphones and the steering wheel.
The product is not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts, which pose a choking hazard. It's important to retain the instruction manual for future reference, as contents and specifications may vary.
