How to fix Wachs Cutter not cutting straight?
    • N
      Nicholas KingAug 4, 2025
If your Wachs Cutter isn't cutting straight or the closure is poor, consider these potential causes. First, check the chain alignment. If the chain is poorly aligned, ensure to check the setup. A dull cutter can also lead to poor cuts, so replace it. For inclined or vertical pipes, using a Wachs guide track might help. Lastly, cutter overload can be a factor; if so, readjust the feed.

Why does my Wachs Trav-L HE Cutter motor and cutter stall?

      davidhernandezAug 11, 2025
If the Wachs Cutter motor and cutter stall, several factors could be at play. It might be due to air motor icing, which can be resolved by using Wachs special antifreeze oil. A dull cutter can also cause stalling, so replace it. Ensure that the air supply is sufficient (90 psi 100 CFM). Replace the dirty air filter element #02-164-00. Adjust the feed and depth of cut if the saw is feeding too fast or removing too much material in one pass. Finally, check for oil loss in the cutter gearbox or dirt, corrosion, or broken vanes in the air motor; in both cases, add oil and check for leaks.

What to do if the chain drive sprocket breakage occurs on my Wachs Cutter?
    • R
      Renee TrevinoAug 18, 2025
If you're experiencing chain drive sprocket breakage with your Wachs Cutter, it could be due to a damaged chain, which requires replacement. Incorrect chain connection can also cause this issue; check the connection points and correct them. Another potential cause is a connection pin that is not fully inserted; ensure it is completely inserted or replace it if damaged.

Why is the machine feed inoperative on my Wachs Trav-L HE Cutter?
    • M
      Mark CastroAug 27, 2025
If the machine feed on your Wachs Cutter is inoperative, it could be due to dirt and corrosion in the drive air motor; flush it with alcohol or mineral spirits and reoil. With air on, tap the clutch with a wood stick in a counter-clockwise direction from the rear of the motor. Clutch slippage could also be the cause; in this case, loosen the (2) set screws #90-044-53 and tighten the hex nut #90-055-02, then retighten the set screws.
