Piston - The piston should be checked regularly for wear marks. Improper
cleaning may cause scoring marks on the piston.
Improper cleaning and poor paint preparation can cause the piston to seize. Do
not continue to press the trigger of the gun when a low humming is heard, as this
will burn out the motor.
Dismantle the pump housing and carefully remove the piston. Soak the housing
in solvent if the piston cannot be removed from the housing without force.
Clean all parts and reassemble, condition the paint if necessary.
