4. Install the boom swing and retract lock
pins and secure with its retainer.
5. Keep to the right and yield the right-of-
way to allow faster traffi c to pass. Drive
on the road shoulder, if permitted by
law.
6. Make sure the SMV (Slow Moving Ve-
hicle) emblem and all lights and refl ec-
tors required by the local highway and
transport authorities are in place, are
clean and can be seen clearly by all
overtaking and oncoming traffi c.
7. It is not recommended that the machine
be transported faster than 20 mph (32
kph). Table 2 gives the acceptable
transport speed as the ratio of tractor
weight to backhoe weight.

8. Do not allow riders on the machine or
tractor.
9. During periods of limited visibility, use
pilot vehicles and use extra lights on the
machine.
10. Always use hazard fl ashers on the trac-
tor when transporting unless prohibited
by law.
