Overview

The WatchMeIP ES series refers to a range of IP cameras designed for security and surveillance, managed through a dedicated mobile application. This app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, serves as the primary interface for controlling and monitoring the camera system. The core function of the WatchMeIP ES camera is to provide real-time video surveillance, enabling users to view live footage, record events, and receive alerts directly on their mobile devices.

Function Description

The WatchMeIP ES camera system offers comprehensive surveillance capabilities. Its primary function is to capture video footage, which can be viewed live or recorded for later playback. The camera is equipped with features such as motion detection, which triggers alarms and can initiate various responses like sending email notifications or recording video. Infrared light functionality allows for surveillance in low-light or no-light conditions, ensuring continuous monitoring around the clock. The system also supports two-way audio communication, enabling users to listen to the camera's surroundings and speak through the camera's microphone.

Usage Features

The WatchMeIP ES app provides a user-friendly interface for managing the camera.

Adding a New Camera:

To begin, users open the WatchMeIP ES app and select "Add new camera." The app then offers options to "Search" for available cameras on the local network or "Scan ID" to manually input the camera's unique identifier. After finding or entering the camera's details, users input the camera's username and password (defaulting to "admin" for the user) and press "DONE." Once added, the camera appears in the camera list, ready for use. Multiple cameras can be added to the system, allowing for comprehensive coverage of different areas.

Live Video Viewing:

To view live footage, users simply select the desired camera from the camera list within the app. The live view screen presents several control options:

  • Mirror Image: Flips the video horizontally.
  • Upside Down Image: Rotates the video 180 degrees, useful if the camera is mounted inverted.
  • Switch ON/OFF Infrared Light: Manually controls the camera's infrared illuminators for night vision.
  • Switch ON/OFF the Alarm: Activates or deactivates the camera's alarm system.
  • Screen Rotation: Adjusts the orientation of the video display on the mobile device.
  • On/Off Speaker: Enables or disables audio output from the camera, allowing users to listen to the camera's environment.
  • On/Off Microphone: Activates or deactivates the camera's microphone, enabling two-way audio communication.
  • Record a Picture: Captures a still image from the live video feed.
  • Record Video: Initiates video recording from the live feed.
  • Watch Mode: Likely refers to a specific viewing mode or layout.
  • Select Quality (VGA/QVGA): Allows users to choose the video resolution, balancing image clarity with bandwidth usage.
  • Select Refresh Frequency (30FPS): Adjusts the frame rate of the video, impacting smoothness.
  • Select Light Frequency (50-60Hz): Configures the camera's light frequency to match the local electrical grid, preventing flickering in artificial light.
  • Brightness Adjust: Modifies the brightness of the video feed.
  • Contrast Adjust: Modifies the contrast of the video feed.
  • Reset to Default Video Setting: Reverts all video settings to their factory defaults.

Alarm Management:

The "Alarm" page in the app displays a log of all triggered alarms for each camera. Users can select a specific camera to review its alarm history, which includes the time and type of alarm (e.g., Motion Alarm).

Picture and Video Playback:

The "Picture" page allows users to view all still images captured by the camera. The "Video" page lists all recorded video clips, providing details such as equipment name, file name, creation time, and file size. For video playback, the manual suggests installing the "MoboPlayer" app, which provides necessary video codecs.

Camera Setup:

Accessing the camera's settings is done by pressing a blue arrow icon on the main page and selecting the desired setup function.

  • WiFi Setup: This crucial feature allows the camera to connect to a wireless network. Users select their desired Wi-Fi network from a list, enter the password, and confirm. After successful configuration, the camera can operate wirelessly, and the LAN cable can be disconnected. If the connection fails, users are advised to reconnect the LAN cable and re-scan for Wi-Fi networks.
  • Alarm Setup: This section configures the camera's motion detection and alarm responses.
    • Motion Detect Armed: Activates or deactivates the motion detection system.
    • Motion Detect Sensibility: Adjusts the sensitivity of motion detection on a scale of 1 to 10.
    • Alarm Input Armed: Enables the camera to read an external alarm input.
    • IO Linkage on Alarm: Activates an output alarm pin when an alarm is triggered.
    • Alarmed Mail Notification: Sends an email notification when an alarm is triggered.
    • Alarmed Record: Sends a notification to the app when an alarm is triggered (requires the app to be running).
    • Upload Image on Alarm: Sends 6 pictures via email when an alarm is triggered.
    • Upload Interval (Seconds): Sets the delay between consecutive uploads after an alarm.
  • Mail Setup: Configures the email settings for alarm notifications. Users input sender and receiver email addresses, SMTP server details, port number, and authentication credentials. The manual suggests using a free email service like email.it for verified settings.
  • Time Setup: Allows users to adjust the camera's internal clock, including device time, timezone, and the option to use an NTP server for automatic time correction or synchronize with the phone's time.
  • User Setup: Manages user accounts for accessing the camera.
    • Administrator: Has full control and can modify all setup pages.
    • Operator: Can only view the camera feed and cannot modify settings. Users can change passwords for both administrator and operator accounts.

Maintenance Features

While the manual primarily focuses on setup and usage, some aspects touch upon maintenance:

  • WiFi Setup Troubleshooting: The instruction to reconnect the LAN cable and re-scan for Wi-Fi networks if the wireless connection fails serves as a basic troubleshooting step.
  • Password Management: The ability to change user passwords in the "User Setup" section is a security maintenance feature, ensuring authorized access to the camera.
  • Video Codec Installation: The recommendation to install "MoboPlayer" for updated video codecs implies that maintaining the ability to play recorded videos might require external software updates, ensuring compatibility with various video formats.
  • Reset to Default Settings: The option to reset video settings to default can be considered a maintenance feature, useful for troubleshooting display issues or reverting unwanted changes.

Overall, the WatchMeIP ES series offers a robust and user-friendly solution for remote surveillance, with a strong emphasis on mobile control and customizable alarm responses. The app's intuitive design and comprehensive feature set aim to provide users with effective monitoring and security management capabilities.
