Do you have a question about the Wavecrest TidalForce M-750 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is the owner's manual for the TidalForce M-750 High Performance Electric Bicycle, powered by the WaveCrest Adaptive Motor™ System. It provides comprehensive information on the bicycle's assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
The TidalForce M-750 is an electric bicycle designed for both performance and convenience, featuring a folding frame for easy transport and storage. It integrates an electric motor to assist pedaling, offering different modes for power output and range. The bicycle is equipped with quick-release mechanisms for wheels, seat post, and frame, facilitating rapid assembly and disassembly without tools. It includes a dashboard for monitoring battery status and selecting operating modes, as well as a cycle computer for tracking ride data. The motor system incorporates regenerative braking, which recharges the battery during deceleration.
The M-750 utilizes quick-release levers for the seat post, frame, front wheel, and rear wheel, allowing for tool-free folding and unfolding. Wiring harness connectors are designed for quick connection and disconnection, crucial for wheel removal and overall assembly. Users are cautioned to securely lock all quick releases before riding to prevent serious injury.
The bicycle offers "Economy" and "Turbo" modes, selectable via the "TURBO" button on the dashboard. Economy mode conserves battery power with a top speed of approximately 12 mph, while Turbo mode provides full motor output power, reaching about 19.5 mph, at the expense of increased battery consumption. Users should release the throttle, switch modes, and then re-engage the throttle when changing between these modes.
The dashboard features "BATTERY A" and "BATTERY B" buttons (for front hub and optional second battery, respectively) to turn power on/off. It includes LED displays for state-of-charge, indicating battery levels from 1% to 100%. The "REGEN" LED illuminates during regenerative braking, which is activated by applying the front brake, exceeding cruise control speed, or exceeding top speed limits. The throttle is located on the right handlebar for speed control.
The M-750 has a 21-speed Shimano Deore Derailleur with Grip-Shift Shifters. Users can shift gears by twisting the shift grips, coordinating with pedal rotation for smooth transitions.
The bicycle is equipped with a shock-absorbing suspension fork, custom-fitted and adjusted for the added weight of the front hub battery. The suspension is set to its softest setting, indicated by a fully extended yellow indicator flag, to minimize shock and jarring.
A cycle computer on the left handlebar stem displays current speed (mph or km) and selectable functions including Dual Trip Distance, Elapsed Time, Total Distance, Average Speed, Maximum Speed, and Clock Time. Readings can be reset using the "S" button.
The manual emphasizes several safety warnings, including:
Users are advised to inspect the M-750 regularly (every week or two) for loose nuts and bolts, worn or damaged parts, and proper frame/fork alignment. The chain should be checked for wear and corrosion.
The M-750 is water-resistant, but not waterproof. Cleaning should be done with low-pressure water and a brush, avoiding direct spraying into hubs or wiring harness connectors. The bicycle should not be immersed, and battery/motor areas should not be soaked. After cleaning, the bike should be dried completely to prevent rusting and corrosion.
Only the approved WaveCrest battery charger should be used. The front hub battery and any optional second battery are charged onboard. The charger has a tri-color LED to indicate charging states:
Charging involves plugging the charger into a 110 VAC outlet, ensuring the battery is off, removing the dust cap from the charging plug, connecting the charger, and turning the locking collar clockwise. Charging time is typically 3-6 hours. The charger will remain in Compensating Charge mode indefinitely after full charge.
Batteries can be charged at any capacity without harm. The expected total battery life is approximately 400 cycles. Users are cautioned to always connect the charger to AC power before connecting to the bicycle, and disconnect from the bicycle before disconnecting from AC power. Incorrect charger use can result in fire. Avoid physical shock or vibration to the charger and do not use other chargers. Prevent water contact with the hub battery charging plug/socket.
Brakes can be adjusted by turning the adjusting nuts located at the junction of the brake cable and brake lever. The knurled knob on the shaft of the adjusting bolt is used to lock the brake setting. Both front and rear brake levers have independent adjustments.
If the gear system malfunctions, the derailleur cable tension may need adjustment. This involves shifting the chain to specific sprockets and then turning the cable adjusting barrel (knurled knob) located at the junction of the cable and the rear derailleur. Turning counter-clockwise increases tension, and clockwise decreases it.
For long-term storage, the M-750 should be kept in a cool (15° - 30°C / 59° - 86°F), dry (10% - 70% humidity) place. The battery should be fully charged every 90 days to extend its total life. Tires should be kept off concrete flooring, using mats or suspension, to minimize tire rot.
The manual includes a troubleshooting guide with common problems, possible causes, and remedies. Examples include:
