Why does the WEMPE 20804/IP Clock green LED "State" blink continuously and the red LED "Error" show single or double flashing?
    • D
      Devin CampbellAug 14, 2025
This indicates a communication failure to the masterclock. Verify that the ENI V1 compatibility is correctly configured (refer to chapter 1.3.2 for setting the protocol version). Ensure the IP addresses of the ENI and masterclock reside within the same IP subnet or VLAN. If using dynamic VLAN, confirm that the Announce protocol is enabled via the ENI's web interface Configuration page. Check for any firewall or routing device blocking features between the ENI and masterclock. Verify the packet route between the ENI and the masterclock device. Examine the masterclock's web interface for any slaveclock-related errors. Lastly, confirm that the time broadcast for the correct LAN port on the masterclock is active.

Why does the WEMPE 20804/IP Clock green LED "State" blink continuously and the red LED "Error" show single or double flashing when connected to NTP server?
    • J
      John BridgesAug 17, 2025
This indicates a communication failure to the NTP server. First, check the configured IP addresses of the NTP server(s). If DHCP is enabled, verify that the IP addresses of the NTP server(s) are being obtained from the DHCP server. Next, check the IP routes from the ENI to the configured NTP server and back. If using redundant masterclocks, check all possible routes. Ensure that there are no firewalls or other blocking features on any routing devices between the ENI and the NTP server(s). Finally, verify that the NTP server at the configured IP address(es) is up and running.

What to do if the yellow LED "Net" is on but the web interface of the WEMPE Clock is not reachable?
    • M
      mhuntAug 21, 2025
This is caused by a communication failure to the NTP server. If DHCP is disabled, verify that the configured static IP address (see label) is reachable within your IP subnet. If DHCP is enabled, review the logs of the DHCP server to confirm the MAC address of the ENI appears. Check the IP routes from your PC to the ENI and back. You can use the ping tool on the Tools page of the web interface to assist with this. Ensure there are no blocking features (firewall etc.) on any routing device between the ENI and your PC. Try using the factory default address or forcing the device to obtain a DHCP address lease using the buttons. If you still cannot determine which IP address the ENI is trying to use, request a diagnostic output at startup.

What to do if the WEMPE Clock movement doesn't step and the red LED "Error" shows triple flashing?
    • S
      stephanie54Aug 25, 2025
This issue occurs when the movement wires are shortcut or interrupted. Check the wires from the ENI to the movement. Note that after resolving the cause, the movement control will not recover automatically. To restart the H-Bridge power supply, press the "12h" button while the "Service" switch is set to "OFF". After this, the clock hands will most likely show an incorrect time, requiring adjustment via the web interface.

How to resolve a temperature alarm on a WEMPE 20804/IP Clock?
    • T
      Tiffany BrownAug 28, 2025
A temperature alarm, indicated by the red LED "Error" blinking continuously, means that the ENI's environment exceeds the configured alarm threshold (default: 0…70°C). Check the ENI's environment to ensure it stays within this range.

What to do if the WEMPE 20804/IP Clock green LED "State" shows single flashing and the yellow LED "Net" is off?
    • O
      Olivia RobertsAug 31, 2025
Check the speed and flow control settings on the corresponding port of the PoE switch that the ENI is connected to. It should be set to Auto or 100M full duplex with flow control enabled.

What to do if the WEMPE Clock green LED "State" shows triple flashing and DHCP is activated?
    • B
      Becky PriceSep 3, 2025
Check the route of packets between the ENI and the supposed DHCP server. You can temporarily set a static IP address to the ENI and use the "Ping" tool to check the route.

What to do if the blue LED "Power" is off on my WEMPE Clock?
    • G
      Gregory Jones Jr.Sep 6, 2025
Check the physical connection between the ENI and the PoE switch, including all cables and plugs. Verify the PoE settings on the port of the PoE switch that the ENI is connected to, specifically voltage and current. If other PoE devices work on the ethernet plug the ENI was connected to, the device may be damaged, and it is recommended to contact the manufacturer.
