Overview

The Wertheim SM1000 Steam Mop is a household appliance designed for deep cleaning various surfaces using steam, offering a chemical-free cleaning solution. It is intended for domestic use, with commercial use voiding the manufacturer's warranty.

Function Description:

The SM1000 operates by heating water to produce steam, which is then used to clean and sterilize surfaces. It features a biometric safety hand grip that, when held, activates steam spray after the power switch is set to ON. The device includes a turbo steam spray button for stronger steam when tackling stubborn dirt. Steam spray stops when the hand grip is released or the power switch is set to OFF.

The steam mop is versatile, capable of cleaning laminated floors, carpets, sofas, stuffed animals, toys, and tiles. For laminated floors, it is recommended to move the nozzle slowly and avoid prolonged steaming in one spot to prevent deformation due to heat. For carpets and sofas, the nozzle should be removed, and steam should be applied from a short distance to sterilize and kill dust mites. When cleaning tiles, the focused spray nozzle and a brush can be used for edges and crevices. For stuffed animals and toys, the nozzle should be detached, and the turbo mode should not be used. Hardwood sealed floors require caution, as prolonged steaming in one spot can damage the wood coating due to temperature and humidity changes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: SM1000
  • Rated Voltage: 220-230V~, 50Hz
  • Max. Power Consumption: 1250W
  • Weight of Body: 2.5kg
  • Weight of Water Tank: 600mL
  • Duration of Use: Approximately 30 minutes
  • Length of Cord: 7m
  • Size of Body: 285mm (W) x 150mm (L) x 1220mm (Max. H), 860mm (Height of Body)

Usage Features:

  • Assembly and Power: The floor cleaning nozzle snaps onto the body. The water tank, after being filled and its Ezcap closed, attaches to the steamer. An operation indicator LED blinks once when the plug is connected, signaling proper power connection.
  • Steam Activation: After setting the power switch to ON and holding the hand grip, steam will be sprayed. Initial steam spray takes about 15 seconds, with more time needed for the cleaning pad to be thoroughly soaked.
  • Turbo Steam Spray: A dedicated button allows for stronger steam for tougher cleaning tasks. If used for longer than two minutes, the device automatically reverts to normal steam mode for user safety.
  • Water Refill: Before refilling, the power switch must be set to OFF. The water tank is detached, and the Ezcap is opened for refilling. Only the Ezcap should be used for refilling, not the bottom cap, which is for cleaning the water tank. Distilled water is recommended in hard water areas to prevent damage.
  • Extension Tube: A 24-step stainless steel extension tube allows for length adjustment using a rotation switch.
  • Cleaning Pads: The device uses a steam cleaning pad that attaches to the floor cleaning nozzle. It also has a fixing holder for regular dust cloths, allowing up to 3 layers of cloth.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not use outdoors.
    • Do not leave unattended when plugged in.
    • Unplug when not in use or before servicing.
    • Avoid use by children, pets, or plants without close supervision.
    • Do not operate with a damaged plug or cord.
    • Do not immerse in water or other liquids.
    • Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces and sharp edges.
    • Do not handle with wet hands or without shoes.
    • Do not put objects into openings or use with blocked openings.
    • Keep hands and feet away from the steam mop as it gets very hot.
    • Do not add cleaning solutions, scented perfumes, oils, or other chemicals to the water, as this can damage the unit and void the warranty.
    • Do not use on unsealed timber floors.
    • Avoid leaving the steamer in one spot for too long, as it may damage the floor.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Water Tank: The silicon and cap connector should be properly attached to prevent malfunction. The Ezcap must be closed securely to prevent water leakage.
  • Cleaning the Nozzles: A cleaning pin is provided to clean the steam jet nozzle, which should be done after detaching the floor cleaning nozzle from the body. This is recommended once a week to maintain cleaning performance.
  • Automatic Self-Cleaning Mode: After detaching the nozzle, set the power switch to OFF, hold the hand grip, and press the turbo spray button for longer than 5 seconds. This mode discharges strong steam and water and should be performed in a safe place like a bathroom. For optimum performance, press the turbo spray button for over one minute during cleaning. Release the button to stop cleaning.
  • Replacing Cleaning Pads and Cloths: Ensure cleaning pads and regular cleaning cloths are dry before attaching. The product should be cooled down before replacing pads or cloths as they may be hot after use. Cleaning pads should be washed with soap or detergent in clean water after use and dried in the shade.
  • Storage: After use, set the power switch to OFF and disconnect the plug. Clean pads or floor cloths promptly to prevent rotting and odor. Do not store the hot nozzle on the floor to avoid damage. If storing for a long period, empty the water tank. The water tank can be easily detached for this purpose.

The Wertheim SM1000 Steam Mop is designed to provide effective and chemical-free cleaning for a variety of household surfaces, emphasizing user safety and ease of maintenance.
