Why is my Westfield MK100 auger making excessive noise?
    • G
      George StokesAug 15, 2025
Excessive noise in your Westfield Tools auger could be due to several factors. Initially, remember to follow proper break-in procedures, as the auger may run rough until the tube is polished. If the noise persists, try to determine if it comes from the main or swing-away section by disconnecting the chain from the sprocket drive. Also, inspect for obstructions like cloth or trash wrapped around the flighting, or buildup from oily crops. Check the condition of the flighting at the spout end of the auger; if it has peeled back due to plugging, replacement might be necessary. Make sure that you are using new “E” series cross links and genuine Westfield replacement parts.

What to do if my Westfield Tools auger has excessive PTO angle?
    • H
      Heather ColeAug 18, 2025
If your Westfield Tools auger has an excessive PTO angle, check the Assembly section for correct dimensions between the auger input and tractor PTO output. Adjust by raising the tractor drawbar to maintain correct dimensions. If extreme side-to-side angles are needed due to bin and tractor placement, consider using a right angle drive kit.

Why Westfield MK100 auger bearings failing?
    • R
      ricejohnAug 28, 2025
If the bearings in your Westfield Tools auger are failing, it could be due to several reasons: * They may not be receiving adequate grease. * The bearing load may not be evenly distributed between the upper and lower bearings. Use the correct sequence of tightening lock collars when setting up or replacing bearings. On MK130 Plus models, adjust the bearing load using the threaded upper flight stub. * Failure of bearing seals. Wet grain or fertilizer will damage seals if left in the boot over time. Clean out the boot before storing the auger.

      Carmen JordanSep 7, 2025
If the shear bolt hole in your Westfield Tools auger is worn out-of-round, frequent use of an incorrect shear bolt size can wear the mounting hole, creating a "scissor effect," which will require replacement of the affected parts.
