Overview

This document provides assembly instructions for two picnic tables: the Westwood Round (PT105) and the Westwood Square (PT106). While the instructions primarily use images of the Westwood Round, a note clarifies that the Westwood Square model does not feature the rounded tabletop and seats, with the provided pictures serving for illustration purposes.

Function Description:

The devices are outdoor picnic tables designed for seating and dining. They consist of a central table top supported by a leg assembly, with four integrated seat assemblies. The design allows for a stable and durable outdoor furniture solution.

Important Technical Specifications:

The assembly requires specific hardware:

  • Leg Assembly Frames: 2 units, featuring opposite notches for interlocking.
  • Seat Assemblies: 4 units.
  • Table Top Assembly: 1 unit.
  • Screws:
    • 28 x 3" screws
    • 8 x 4" screws

Usage Features (Assembly Process):

The assembly process is broken down into several steps, with clear instructions and accompanying images:

  1. Leg Assembly:

    • Take both leg assembly frames and slot them together. The instructions note that it might be necessary to use a crowbar or large screwdriver to slightly pry the frames apart to facilitate slotting them together.
    • Once slotted, the leg frames are fastened together using four 3" screws, as indicated by arrows in the provided image.
  2. Table Top Installation:

    • The table top is lifted and positioned so that its legs slot between the runners located underneath the table top.
    • It is crucial to ensure the table top is sitting straight and fully pushed down onto the legs.
    • Two 4" screws are then screwed through the table top runners into each of the legs, as shown by arrows in the image, to secure the table top.
  3. Seat Assembly Installation:

    • Each of the four seat assemblies is positioned onto the leg frame assembly.
    • It is important to push the seat assembly fully up so that the piece of wood underneath touches the leg, ensuring a snug fit.
    • Four 3" screws are then screwed into the top of the seat and fixed to the leg frame assembly, as indicated by arrows. This process is repeated for all three remaining seat assemblies.
  4. Final Seat Support Fastening:

    • Two 3" screws are fastened through the wooden support of each seat and into the leg of the picnic table. This step is also guided by arrows in the image and is repeated for the other three seats.

Maintenance Features:

The manual does not explicitly detail maintenance features. However, given that these are outdoor picnic tables, typical maintenance would likely involve:

  • Regular cleaning to remove dirt and debris.
  • Periodic inspection of screws and joints to ensure tightness and re-tightening as necessary to maintain structural integrity.
  • Application of wood preservatives or sealants to protect against weather damage, rot, and insect infestation, especially for untreated wood.
  • Storage in a sheltered area during harsh weather conditions to prolong the lifespan of the furniture.

The document concludes with illustrative images of the fully assembled Westwood Round (PT105) and Westwood Square (PT106) picnic tables, showcasing their final appearance in an outdoor setting. The emphasis on using specific screw sizes and ensuring proper alignment during assembly highlights the importance of following instructions for a sturdy and safe product.
