The Wet Sounds WS-MC-1 Marine Media Center System is a high-performance audio product designed for marine environments. It is a two-piece, marine-grade, multi-channel, multi-zone source unit, consisting of the MC-MD (Main Display) and MC-BB (Black Box). This system is engineered to withstand the rigorous marine environment, providing ultimate audio performance for boats and other watercraft.
The WS-MC-1 serves as a central media hub for marine audio systems, offering a wide range of audio sources and control capabilities across multiple zones. It allows users to customize their audio experience by storing favorite sources and audio presets for up to four zones. The system supports various volume levels for different lifestyle environments and allows custom labeling of presets for easy access while on the water.
Main Control Knob (MCK): This knob is used for adjusting the main volume. When pressed, it displays all audio zones. Users can select a specific zone by pressing the MCK or the corresponding button below the display. The MCK then adjusts the volume of the highlighted zone. Repeatedly pressing the MCK cycles through zones, with a GREEN highlight indicating the active zone for adjustment and BLUE indicating that the MAIN volume is being adjusted. The system maintains the proportional levels of individual zones when the main volume is adjusted.
Power/Mute Button: A long press on this button powers the unit on or off. A short press mutes or unmutes the volume of all zones, with confirmation displayed on the MC-MD.
Menu Button: This button provides access to functions specific to the currently selected audio source.
Setup Button: This button allows access to controls that affect all functions of the MC-1. Pressing the SETUP button brings up options, which can be navigated by turning the MCK or using the ^ v buttons below the display. The desired option is selected by pressing the MCK or the ENTER button.
Audio Adjustments: Within the SETUP menu, the AUDIO option provides access to:
Bluetooth® Connectivity: Displays a list of available Bluetooth® devices. Users can connect, disconnect, or delete devices using the MCK and display buttons. Bluetooth® must be enabled on the device.
Label Presets: Allows customization of labels for the three shortcut keys (up to 8 characters).
Shortcut Keys: Any source can be assigned to the three shortcut keys (SC1, SC2, SC3). Once set, pressing these buttons directly selects the assigned source.
LCD Brightness: Adjusts the display brightness using the MCK or display buttons.
Clock Setting: Allows setting the clock by rotating the MCK or using the display buttons.
Day/Night Mode: Scrolls through display options: DAY (white screen/black characters), NIGHT (black screen/white characters), or AUTO. In AUTO mode, the display switches to NIGHT when the vessel's lights are on (requires ORANGE DIM INPUT wire to be connected to a +12V circuit).
Auto Dimmer: When ON, the MC-MD display brightness is controlled by the vessel's dimming switch (requires ORANGE DIM INPUT wire). When OFF, the vessel's dimming circuit does not affect the display.
Source Selection: The SOURCE button (and display buttons) provides access to seven different sources:
Radio Operation:
USB Operation: Connects to and charges Apple and most Android devices. Reads MP3 files from USB/thumb drives. Features include PLAY/PAUSE, Forward/Reverse Track, Shuffle, and Repeat. The MENU button allows searching for Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres, Songs, Composers, Audiobooks, or Podcasts, either alphabetically or displaying ALL.
Bluetooth® Audio Operation: Connects to desired Bluetooth® devices. Features include PLAY/PAUSE, Forward/Reverse Track, Shuffle, and Repeat. The MENU button allows searching for Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres, Songs, Composers, Audiobooks, or Podcasts.
Auxiliary Input Operation: Accesses the 3.5mm auxiliary input on the MC-BB for connecting various audio sources.
Pandora®: Allows direct control of the Pandora® application from the MC-1. Android users connect via Bluetooth®, iOS users via USB or Bluetooth®. The Pandora® app must be started on the device first.
Upgradeable Operating System Software: The WS-MC-1 features a fully upgradeable operating system software via its USB port. This allows users to keep their system up-to-date with the latest features and improvements by visiting the Wet Sounds website for downloads and detailed updating instructions. This ensures the device remains current and performs optimally over time without needing physical replacement for software enhancements.
