Function Description:

The Whirlpool washing machine is designed exclusively for treating machine-washable laundry in quantities typical for private households. It offers various wash programs and features to ensure effective and gentle cleaning of different fabric types. The machine incorporates automatic safety functions to detect and diagnose faults, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Water Inlet:
    • Water tap: 3/4" threaded hose connector.
    • Water pressure (flow pressure): 100-1000 kPa (1-10 bar).
    • For models with hot fill, the hot water inlet temperature must not exceed 60°C.
    • Uses new hoses for connection to the water supply.
  • Drain:
    • Drain hose connection height: minimum 60 cm, maximum 125 cm.
    • Maximum overall drain hose length: 2.50 m (if maximum fixation height is 90 cm).
  • Electrical Connection:
    • Requires a socket with an earth connection.
    • Voltage, power consumption, and protection requirements are detailed inside the door.
    • Must be connected to the mains via a socket with an earth connection in accordance with current regulations.

    • A (most efficient): less than 45% remaining moisture content.
    • B: 45% or more, but less than 54%.
    • C: 54% or more, but less than 63%.
    • D: 63% or more, but less than 72%.
    • E: 72% or more, but less than 81%.
  • Environmental Compliance:
    • Marked according to European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
    • Packaging materials are 100% recyclable.

Usage Features:

  • Safety Instructions:
    • For indoor use only.
    • Do not store flammable fluids near the appliance.
    • Children aged 8 and above, or individuals with reduced capabilities, can operate the machine under supervision and after instruction on safe use. Children younger than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
    • Do not operate below 5°C.
    • For freestanding models, a dryer can be stacked using an appropriate stacking kit from After-Sales Service or a specialist dealer.

    • Built-in models must be fully built-in and the top cover must not be removed.

  • Preparation of Laundry:
    • Sort laundry by type, care label symbol, color, and degree of soiling.
    • Empty pockets and fasten zippers/buttons.
  • Detergents and Additives:
    • Use detergents and additives suitable for machine washing.
    • Consult the detergent manufacturer's instructions for dosage.
    • Water hardness affects detergent dosage; adjust accordingly.
    • Prewash chamber for prewash detergent.
    • Main wash chamber for main wash detergent, stain removal, and water softener.
    • Softener chamber for fabric softener and starch.
    • Chlorine bleach can be used in the softener chamber for cotton programs.
  • First Use:
    • Run a short wash cycle without laundry to remove any residual water from manufacturing.
  • Programme Duration:
    • The machine adapts program duration based on factors like foam formation, load unbalance, heating time, and load size. An animation may appear on the display during recalculation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser:
    • Pull out the dispenser drawer, remove the siphon, and clean all parts under running water.
    • Clean the dispenser compartment with a damp cloth.
  • Cleaning the Mesh Filter in the Water Inlet Hose:
    • Close the tap, unscrew the inlet hose, remove the mesh filter, and clean it.
    • Check the inlet hose regularly for brittleness and cracks.
  • Appliance Exterior and Control Panel:
    • Clean with a soft damp cloth.
  • Appliance Interior:
    • After each wash, leave the door open for some time to allow the inside to dry.
    • Run a 95°C program without laundry periodically to clean the interior.
  • Door Seal:

  • Filter (Draining Residual Water):
    • Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year.
  • General Cleaning Advice:

  • Frost Protection:
    • If the machine is in a room prone to frost, ensure it is completely drained after each wash by removing inlet and drain hoses and emptying residual water.
  • Transport Bolts:
    • Must be removed before first use to prevent damage.
    • Should be refitted in reverse order for future transport.
