This document describes a dryer, detailing its installation, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The device is a clothes dryer designed for household use. Its primary function is to dry laundry after it has been washed, using various programs and settings to achieve desired drying results. It can be operated with or without a vent hose, depending on the installation environment. The dryer is also designed to be stackable on top of a front-loading washing machine using a specific stacking kit.

Important Technical Specifications

Minimum Housing Dimensions:

  • Width: 600 mm
  • Height: 850 mm
  • Depth: 560 mm

Electrical Connections:

  • Must be carried out by a qualified technician in compliance with manufacturer instructions and current safety regulations.
  • Must comply with local Electricity Board regulations.
  • Voltage, power consumption, and fuse protection information are located on the rating plate at the rear of the dryer.
  • The dryer must be earthed as prescribed by law.
  • Extension leads or multiple adaptors should not be used.
  • Mains cable replacement must only be carried out by After-Sales Service.

Ventilation (with vent hose):

  • Vent hose diameter: 10 cm
  • Maximum vent hose length: 3 m (with two bends)
  • The vent hose should be led outside without kinking and placed horizontally or upwards.
  • Avoid connecting to ventilation systems protected by fly nets, chimney systems, or heating systems. Only connect to ventilation systems insulated against humidity.

Ventilation (without vent hose):

  • Must be used in a large, well-ventilated room.
  • The room must be kept free of dust.
  • A minimum distance of 10 cm between the rear of the appliance and the wall must be observed.

EC Declaration of Conformity:

  • Designed, constructed, and distributed in compliance with EC Directives, specifically 93/68/EC.
  • Intended for household use only.

Usage Features

Before First Use:

  • Unpacking: After unpacking, check for any damage. If damaged, do not use and contact After-Sales Service or a local retailer. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.
  • Installation:
    • Avoid installing in extreme conditions (poor ventilation, temperatures near freezing or above 35°C).
    • Remove the protective foil from the control panel.
    • Level the dryer by adjusting the two front feet.
    • Ensure the mains cable is not trapped between the dryer and the wall.
  • Stacking: Can be stacked on a front-loading washing machine using stacking kit AMH 542 (available from dealers).

Operating the Dryer:

  • Door: To open, pull the handle; to close, push gently until closed.
  • Filter: Located at the front, needs regular cleaning.
  • Vent Connection: The outlet vent hose and adaptor are initially located in the drum. If not supplied, kit AMH 577 can be used.
    • To install the vent hose: Place the dryer on its right-hand side, push the adaptor into the hose, and attach the adaptor with the vent hose to the connection in the dryer base, locking it into place.
  • Energy Saving Tips:
    • Always dry a full load.
    • Use the maximum allowed spin speed on the washing machine to save time and energy.
    • Avoid overdrying laundry.
    • Clean the lint filter after every drying cycle.
    • Operate the dryer in a room between 15°C and 20°C; ventilate if the temperature is higher.
    • Select the correct program/drying time for the load.
    • Use the "gentle" option only for small loads.
    • When drying cotton loads (e.g., iron dry and cupboard dry), start with the iron dry program, remove laundry to be ironed, then continue drying the rest on the cupboard dry setting.

Door Reversibility: The door can be reversed to open from the opposite side.

  1. Unplug the dryer.
  2. Open the door.
  3. Turn the contact pin on the inside of the door (top) 90° with a spanner and remove it.
  4. Remove the 2 door hinge screws and the door.
  5. Unscrew the 2 screws above and below the door lock system.
  6. Remove the door lock: Press down on the small rib in the upper opening with a screwdriver and pull the lock out.
  7. Reverse the door: Fasten the door on the desired side using the 2 screws. Insert the door lock system on the opposite side and lock it securely. Fix the 2 screws above and below the door lock system.
  8. Replace the contact pin in the inside of the door (top).

Maintenance Features

General Recommendations:

  • After Use: Always set the program/time selector knob to the "0" position to prevent accidental switching on.
  • Before Maintenance/Cleaning: Switch off the dryer and disconnect it from the mains supply.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Use a neutral detergent and a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive detergents.
  • Door Seal Cleaning: Wipe away lint from the door seal and the door using a damp cloth.
  • Lint Filter Cleaning: Clean the lint filter after every drying cycle. If the mesh is clogged, clean it with water and a soft brush.

Disposal:

  • Packaging: The packing box is fully recyclable (indicated by the recycling symbol).
  • Old Appliances: The dryer is built from reusable materials. Dispose of it in compliance with local waste disposal regulations. Before scrapping, cut off the power cable.

Safety:

  • Children must not be allowed to play with the dryer.
  • Do not operate the dryer if it has been damaged during transport; contact After-Sales Service.
  • Before any maintenance, disconnect the dryer from the mains supply.
