Overview

This document is a user manual for a Whirlpool washing machine, model FFCR70120. It provides comprehensive information on the appliance's functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance in both English and Traditional Chinese.

Function Description

The Whirlpool FFCR70120 is a front-loading washing machine designed for household use. It offers a variety of wash programmes tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, including Mixed, White, Cotton, eCotton, Sport, Duvet, Jeans, Spin & Drain, Rinse & Spin, Rapid 30', Colours 15°, Wool, Delicates, and Synthetics.

Key functions and options include:

  • ON/OFF: To power the machine on or off.
  • Programme Selector: A knob to choose the desired wash programme.
  • Start/Pause (▷00): To start, pause, or resume a programme.
  • Spin: Allows adjustment of the spin speed, with a predefined speed for each programme.
  • Intensive Rinse: Increases rinse efficiency for optimal detergent removal, particularly useful for sensitive skin. Users can select 1, 2, or 3 additional rinses.
  • Clean+: Offers three levels (Intensive, Daily, Fast) to adjust washing action based on soil level, targeting stubborn, everyday, or lightly soiled stains.
  • Start Delay: Enables setting a delayed start time for the programme, up to 24 hours.
  • FreshCare+: Enhances washing performance by generating steam to inhibit bad odours and performs gentle tumbling after the cycle for up to 6 hours.
  • Temperature: Allows adjustment of the wash temperature, with a predefined temperature for each programme.
  • Key Lock (∞): Locks the control panel to prevent unintentional changes, especially by children.
  • Bleaching: A specific procedure using the "Rinse & Spin" programme to add bleach to the main wash compartment.
  • Demo Mode: A sales presentation function that allows interaction with the machine without water.

The machine also features "6th Sense" technology, which adapts water, energy, and programme duration to the wash load for optimized results.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Maximum Load: 7 kg (dry cloth).
  • Water Connection: Cold water supply.
  • Water Tap: 3/4" threaded hose connector.
  • Minimum Water Supply Pressure: 100 kPa (1 bar).
  • Maximum Water Supply Pressure: 1000 kPa (10 bar).
  • Electrical Connection: Must be earthed in conformity with national electrical safety standards.
  • Dimensions: Not explicitly stated, but installation instructions suggest a plywood sheet of 60 x 60 x 3 cm for wooden or "floating" floors.
  • Energy Efficiency: The eCotton programme at 60°C is highlighted as the standard cotton programme and the most efficient in terms of water and energy consumption, serving as a reference for the energy label.

Usage Features

  • Loading Laundry: Load articles one at a time loosely into the drum, avoiding overfilling. Observe maximum load capacities specified in the programme chart.
  • Detergent Dispenser: Features separate compartments for main wash (II), prewash (I), and softener (∞). A removable plastic partition (A) is provided for liquid detergent in the main wash compartment, which should be placed in slot B for powder detergent. Softener or starch solution should not exceed the "MAX" mark.
  • Programme Selection: Turn the programme selector dial to choose a programme. The display shows the duration, maximum temperature, and spin speed.
  • Adjusting Settings: Temperature and spin speed can be adjusted using dedicated buttons. Options like Clean+, Intensive Rinse, and Start Delay can be activated or deactivated.
  • Starting a Programme: Press the "Start/Pause" button. The door locks, and the "Door locked" indicator lights up.
  • Changing a Running Programme: A programme can be paused, settings changed (if the phase has not ended), and then resumed.
  • Cancelling a Programme: Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button. If the water level is low, the door will unlock. If water remains, select "Spin & Drain" with spin speed set to "0" to drain and unlock the door.
  • End of Programme: The display shows "END." The door unlocks when the "Door locked" indicator turns off. The machine automatically switches off after approximately 30 minutes if not manually turned off.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning the Outside: Use a soft damp cloth. Avoid glass or general purpose cleaners, scouring powder, or similar on the control panel to prevent damage.
  • Checking Water Supply Hose: Regularly inspect for brittleness or cracks. Replace if damaged. For water stop hoses, check the safety valve inspection window; if red, the hose needs replacement.
  • Cleaning Mesh Filters in Water Supply Hose: Close the water tap, unscrew the inlet hose, remove and clean the mesh filter from the valve on the back of the machine using pliers and a fine brush. Reinstall and ensure connections are tight.
  • Cleaning Detergent Dispenser: Remove the dispenser by pressing the release button. Disassemble the insert from the softener compartment. Clean all parts under running water to remove detergent or softener residues, wipe dry, and reinstall.
  • Cleaning Water Filter / Draining Residual Water:
    1. Switch off and unplug the machine. If a hot wash programme was used, wait for water to cool.
    2. Remove the kick panel using a screwdriver.
    3. Place a low, wide container under the water filter to collect residual water.
    4. Slowly turn the filter counter-clockwise to drain water. Close the filter if the container fills, empty it, and repeat until all water is drained.
    5. Remove the filter completely by turning it anticlockwise, clean residues under running water.
    6. Reinsert the filter by turning it clockwise until it goes as far as it can, ensuring the handle is vertical. Test for water tightness by pouring 1 liter of water into the detergent dispenser. Reinstall the plinth.

Transport and Handling

  • Never lift the washing machine by holding it at the worktop.
  • Before transport: Unplug, close water tap, ensure door and detergent dispenser are closed, disconnect and drain water from inlet and drain hoses, and fix them to prevent damage.
  • Crucially, refit the transport bolts (following reverse installation guide instructions) before moving the machine to prevent internal damage.
