This document describes a French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator, focusing on its internal organization and user-friendly features for storing various food items. The refrigerator is designed with adjustable shelves, multiple bins, and specialized freezer compartments to maximize storage flexibility and efficiency.
Function Description
The French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator is designed to provide optimal storage for both fresh and frozen foods. Its primary function is to keep food items at appropriate temperatures, with dedicated compartments for different types of storage needs. The French door design allows for easy access to the fresh food section, while the bottom mount freezer offers convenient organization of frozen goods.
Usage Features
Refrigerator Section:
- Shelves, Bins, and Drawers: The refrigerator section features adjustable shelves and various bins designed for flexible storage.
- Shelf Height Adjustment: Shelves can be easily adjusted to accommodate items of different heights. To adjust, open both French doors fully. To remove a middle or top shelf, lift it up and out of its supports, then pull it forward, tilt it down to a vertical position, and angle it out of the refrigerator. To remove a bottom shelf, lift it up and out of its supports, then pull it forward, tilt it up to a vertical position, and angle it out. When replacing, insert the shelf at an angle (front down for middle/top, front up for bottom), slide it in until the rear drops into the supports, and then lower the front to secure it. Ensuring the shelf is properly seated on its mounts is crucial. This adjustability helps in organizing similar food items together, making them easier to find and reducing the time the door is open, thereby saving energy.
- Crispers: The refrigerator includes crispers for storing fruits and vegetables. To remove a crisper, open both French doors fully, grasp the handle, slide it out to the stop, and lift it off the bottom guide. To replace, place it on the bottom guide and push it past the stop into position.
- Refrigerator Bins: The door bins are adjustable to meet individual storage needs. Some bins are designed as "Gallon Bins" to fit larger items like milk gallons, freeing up shelf space. The "Standard Bin" has a center position that can be adjusted between two fixed points. To remove, pull it up by applying force on both bottom sides where it engages with the door lug. To install in a different position, press it down until the door lug is fully engaged.
Freezer Section:
- Pullout Freezer Shelves and Drawers: The freezer compartment is equipped with pullout shelves and drawers, allowing for easy storage of both large and small items.
- Full Width Removable Rack: This rack is located below the ice bin tray. To remove it, first empty the ice bin and the rack itself. Then, remove the ice bin from the freezer tray. Next, pull out the freezer tray with the bin from the freezer compartment. On the back of the tray, pull the wire up and backward to disengage the rack from the tray.
- Freezer Drawers: The freezer includes drawers for organized storage. To open the drawers to their full extent, refer to the "Installation Instructions" for the required minimum door opening angle.
- Fast Freeze Compartment: These drawers and shelves are designed for freezing a larger amount of fresh or cooked food quickly and efficiently. The "Fast Freeze" option ensures that all frozen food is stored safely and transparently. Note that the freezer temperature might be cooled down to match the Multi Temperature Freeze Compartment temperature if the freezer is set warmer than the Flexible Freezer compartment.
- Multi Temperature Compartment: This compartment offers flexibility with three freezer temperature levels: -7°C, -12°C, -18°C, and -20°C. This allows users to select the best storage conditions for different types of food. For maximum freezer capacity, the freezer drawer can be removed to expose the freezer shelf. To remove the upper drawer, grasp the handle, slide it out to the stop, and lift it off the bottom guide. To replace, place it on the bottom drawer guide and push it past the drawer stop into position.
- Ice Bin: An ice bin is provided for ice storage, particularly for a second ice maker if available.
Maintenance Features
- Glass Shelves and Covers: It is important to avoid cleaning cold glass shelves or covers with warm water, as sudden temperature changes or impact can cause them to break. Tempered glass is designed to shatter into small, pebble-sized pieces for safety. Glass shelves and covers are heavy, so using both hands when removing them is recommended to prevent dropping.
The design emphasizes user convenience through adjustable components and specialized compartments, aiming to optimize food preservation and accessibility.
