Overview

This document serves as a user manual for the WILDEWAY X7 Electric Bike, providing essential information for assembly, operation, and maintenance. It emphasizes safety precautions and outlines the bike's key features and functions.

Function Description

The WILDEWAY X7 Electric Bike is a personal electric transportation device designed for urban and recreational use. It offers an electric assist mode, allowing riders to pedal with the aid of a motor, or operate in a fully electric mode using a throttle. The bike is foldable, enhancing portability and storage convenience.

Usage Features

The manual details several usage features to ensure a safe and enjoyable riding experience:

  • Pre-Ride Checks: Before each ride, users are instructed to perform several checks. These include ensuring the tires are in good condition with proper inflation and sufficient tread, verifying the braking system is functioning correctly, and confirming that all safety labels are in place and understood. It's also crucial to check the electricity level and ensure the electric bike is operating correctly. All axle guards, chain guards, or other protective covers supplied by the manufacturer must be in place and in serviceable condition.
  • Charging the Battery: The electric bike offers two methods for charging its battery. Users can either remove the battery from the bike and charge it separately or plug the charger directly into the bike. The charging process involves flipping up the saddle, unplugging the power cable, pressing the key in, turning it to "LOCK," and then removing the battery if charging externally.
  • Starting the Bike: Two methods are provided for starting the electric bike:
    • Remote Control Start: This method involves turning the battery key from "OFF" to "ON," then pressing the remote control button once, and double-pressing the lightning bolt button. To engage electric mode, the rider must first brake and then turn the throttle.
    • Bike Key Start: Similar to the remote start, this method requires turning the battery key from "OFF" to "ON." Then, the user presses the remote control button once, inserts the key into the bike, and rotates it. To enter electric mode, the rider must brake first and then turn the throttle.
  • LCD Display Functions: The bike is equipped with an LCD display that provides crucial information during operation. This includes current speed (in km/h or mph), battery level, and error indications. The display also shows the PAS (Pedal Assist System) level, odometer, and trip odometer. A battery under-voltage warning is also integrated. Users can switch between three speed levels by short-pressing the "M" button. The display also indicates when the light is ON/OFF.
  • Adjusting the Handlebar Stem: The handlebar stem can be adjusted to fit the rider's height and preference. This involves releasing a safety buckle and a screw in the direction of an arrow, adjusting the stem up or down, and then locking it by securing the buckle and tightening the screw in the indicated directions.
  • Folding the E-Bike: The manual provides detailed steps for folding the electric bike, emphasizing its portability. This process involves:
    1. Holding the pedal, pushing it inward, and leaning it down or up to fold.
    2. Unlocking the quick-release buckle on the handlebar, turning the handlebar outward 90 degrees, and then locking the quick-release buckle.
    3. Turning the safety buckle on the stem out of its slot (or in the opposite direction to lock the stem) and opening the quick-release buckle.
    4. Releasing the lock of the frame in the direction of an arrow, releasing the buckle in the direction of an arrow, and then folding the frame.

Maintenance Features

The manual highlights several maintenance-related aspects, primarily focusing on safety and warranty information:

  • Water Avoidance: The electric bike is not waterproof, and water damage to the electronics is not covered by the warranty. Riding in wet conditions is also deemed dangerous and can lead to injury.
  • Environmental Protection: Users are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to sun or rain and to keep the bike away from places with high temperatures or corrosive gas.
  • Proper Use and Care: The warranty does not cover physical damage due to negligent care or extreme riding. Users are expected to operate the bike in accordance with the product manual.
  • Charging Port Care: It is important to avoid touching the charging port directly and to prevent it from coming into contact with metal objects.
  • Warranty Information: WILDEWAY offers a 1-year warranty for the bike's motor, battery, and charger. Replacements for the e-bike are provided. For problems or detailed information, customers are directed to contact the customer service team via wildewayebike.com or amazon.com. The company is responsible for after-sales service for faults beyond the three guarantees and major components, though repairs may incur a cost. If a battery replacement is needed outside the warranty period, the company will supply it at factory price, emphasizing safety and pollution avoidance.
  • Accident Coverage: It is noted that warranty policies may not cover accidents involving WILDEWAY eBikes. Customers are advised to contact customer service to determine coverage. Damage resulting from an accident is not covered, and WILDEWAY eBikes are not responsible for repairing or replacing damaged bikes or parts in such cases. The company reserves the right to change its warranty at any time without notice.
