Do you have a question about the Wilfa INNOBOT RVC-4000AI and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Wilfa INNOBOT RVC-D4000SL+, RVC-D4000SL, RVC-D4000AI is a robot vacuum cleaner designed for floor cleaning in home environments. It is not intended for outdoor, non-floor, commercial, or industrial use.

Function Description

This robot vacuum cleaner is designed to autonomously clean floors. It features various cleaning modes, including a mode without a map, memory map cleaning, edge cleaning, specified area cleaning, fixed-point cleaning, and scheduled cleaning. It also includes a mopping function. The device can be controlled via a mobile application, allowing users to define virtual walls or restricted areas, and manage cleaning tasks.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Size: 350 x 97 mm
  • Rated power: 55 W
  • Rated voltage: 14.8 V
  • Charging voltage: 20 V
  • Battery capacity: 6400 mAh (for SL, AI, SL+ models)
  • Battery type: Built-in lithium-ion battery.
  • Optical sensor: 3D ToF-sensor for precision obstacle avoidance.
  • Minimum app requirements (January 2023): iOS 14.00, Android 10.0.
  • Supply unit: Only use with RVCD-D17 or D4000 detachable supply unit for recharging.

Usage Features

  • Power On and Charge: The robot can be placed on its charging station (D4000) or auto-empty station (included in RVC-D4000SL+ or bought separately) to charge. It starts automatically when connected to the base and cannot be shut down during charging. A short press of the recharge button initiates intelligent recharging.
  • Cleaning Modes:
    • Cleaning Mode/Level Selection: Users can choose various cleaning modes and water flow rates via the app.
    • Do Not Disturb Mode (DND): When activated (default 22:00 to 7:00), scheduled cleaning, active voice reporting, and resuming from a breakout point are unavailable. This mode can be deactivated in the app.
    • Cleaning Mode Without Map: If no map is stored, the robot cleans in 6m x 6m square zones. With a stored map, it cleans each room along a planned route and returns to base.
    • Memory Map: When activated in the app, the robot saves and updates the map after successful cleaning and recharging. Users can then split, merge, or name rooms in the app.
    • Edge Cleaning Mode: The robot automatically identifies and cleans along the edges of an area, returning to the base upon completion.
    • Specified Area Cleaning Mode: The robot cleans a user-defined area. Note that the robot may go beyond the defined area, so obstacles should be removed.
    • Fixed-Point Cleaning Mode: The robot cleans a 2m x 2m rectangular area based on a target point defined in the app map.
    • Scheduled Cleaning Mode: Users can schedule cleaning tasks. These tasks will not be executed during Do Not Disturb mode.
  • Mopping Mode: Insert the mop into the mop holder, fill the water tank with water (avoiding detergents, disinfectants, solid cleaners, or hot water), and then attach the water tank to the robot. Virtual walls or forbidden zones should be set for carpeted areas when mopping. Any accumulated water on the floor should be removed before starting.
  • Virtual Wall/Forbidden Area: Users can define areas in the app that the robot should avoid cleaning. This requires a stored map. Moving the robot or changing the indoor environment may invalidate existing maps and virtual walls.
  • Reset/Restore System:
    • A 3-second press of the Reset button restores factory settings and updates firmware to the latest version.
    • A 10-second press of the Reset button clears all network connection, map, scheduled task, DND, and customization information, resetting suction power to default. After a reset, the robot needs to be reconnected to the app, and previous settings will be removed.

Maintenance Features

  • Dust Box:
    1. Open the cover, press the dust box lock, and remove the dust box.
    2. Dispose of trash and clean the box with the provided cleaning brush.
    3. Remove the dust box cover, take out the filter screen, dispose of trash, and clean the screen.
    • It is recommended to clean the dust box at least once a week. Dry the dust box and filter screen for at least 24 hours before reuse. Do not wash the dust box with water to avoid damaging electrical components.
  • Vibrating Water Tank:
    1. Press the tank fastener down and pull the tank out horizontally.
    2. Turn the plastic tank cover, discharge any residual water, and remount the cover.
    3. Mount the tank properly.
  • Side Brush:
    1. Turn the robot over and remove the side brush fixing screws.
    2. Remove and clean the side brush.
    3. Reinstall the side brush and tighten the screws.
    • It is recommended to replace the side brush every 3-6 months.
  • Main Brush (Silicone Brush):
    1. Turn the robot over, press and hold the two release buttons to remove the main brush cover.
    2. Take out the main brush upwards.
    3. Use the knife on the cleaning brush to cut entangled hair and clean the main brush.
    4. Reinstall the main brush and cover, pressing the cover to secure it.
    • It is recommended to replace the main brush every 6-12 months.
  • Cliff Sensor: Clean the cliff sensor with a soft, dry cloth every 3 months.
  • Optical Sensor (3D ToF-sensor): Clean these sensors with a soft, dust-free cloth to remove dirt or dust, as heavy accumulation can impair obstacle avoidance. Do not use chemicals like detergents or sprays.

Environmental Protection

The built-in lithium-ion battery contains chemical substances that can pollute the environment. The battery must be removed and handed over to a professional recycling station before discarding the machine. Steps for battery disassembly are provided in the manual. Ensure the battery is exhausted and the robot is away from the base when disassembling. Handle the entire battery pack as one unit to avoid short circuits or leakage. If battery fluid is touched, rinse with water and seek medical assistance. Batteries should only be replaced by skilled persons.
