Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the WINIA Microwave Oven models WOR07R3ZEC, WOR07R3ZEL, WOR07R3ZEM, WOR07R3ZER, and WOR07R3ZEW. It covers operation, maintenance, and safety guidelines, along with cooking techniques and recipes.

Function Description

The WINIA Microwave Oven is designed for heating, cooking, and drying food using microwave energy. It features various cooking modes including Microwave Cook, +30 Sec, Auto Cook, Weight Defrost, Time Defrost, and Popcorn. The oven operates by converting electricity into microwaves via a magnetron, causing water molecules in food to vibrate and generate heat through friction. This process cooks food from the outside inwards.

Control Panel Features:

  • Display: Shows cooking time, power level, and indicators.
  • Auto Cook: Used for cooking or reheating with pre-set programs.
  • Defrost: Used to defrost foods by weight or time.
  • Popcorn: Dedicated button for cooking popcorn.
  • Power: Sets the microwave power level (from 100% to 20%).
  • Dial Knob: Adjusts time and weight settings.
  • Start/+30sec: Starts oven operation and adds 30-second increments to reheating time (up to 5 minutes).
  • Stop/Clear: Stops oven operation or erases all entries.

ECO Mode (Stand-by): This feature reduces stand-by power consumption. The oven automatically turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity. To reactivate, simply open the door, and the display will turn on.

Usage Features

General Operation:

  1. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V 60Hz outlet.
  2. Place food in a suitable container on the glass tray, ensuring the glass tray and roller guide are in place.
  3. Close the oven door securely.
  4. Set the desired program and time using the control panel.
  5. Press the Start button. The oven light turns on during operation, and the display counts down the cooking time. Three beeps signal the end of cooking. The oven can be stopped at any time by pressing Stop/Clear or opening the door.

  2. Press the Power button repeatedly to select the desired power level. If omitted, the oven cooks at full power.
  3. Turn the Dial Knob to set the cooking time (up to 60 minutes).
  4. Press Start.

+30 Sec: This function reheats food for 30 seconds at full power. Repeatedly pressing the +30sec button extends reheating time by 30-second increments, up to 5 minutes.

  2. Press the Auto Cook button repeatedly to select from pre-set programs (Beverage, Soup, Baked Potato, Fresh Vegetable, Frozen Vegetable).
  3. Turn the Dial Knob to adjust the quantity.

Time Defrost: Defrosts food based on time (up to 60 minutes).

  1. Place food in the oven and close the door.
  2. Press the Defrost button twice.
  3. Turn the Dial Knob to adjust the defrosting time.

Popcorn:

  1. Place a prepackaged popcorn bag in the oven and close the door.
  2. Press the Popcorn button once for 1.75oz or twice for 3.5oz.
  3. Press Start. Caution: Use room-temperature microwave popcorn. Do not reheat unpopped kernels or reuse bags. Do not leave the oven unattended. For 3.5oz bags, ensure the bag does not touch oven walls; it may be folded down.

Cooking Techniques:

  • Standing Time: Essential for dense foods (meat, jacket potatoes, cakes) to allow heat to distribute evenly after cooking.
  • Moisture Content: Adjust cooking times for foods with varying moisture levels.
  • Density: Porous foods heat faster than dense foods.
  • Cling Film: Helps retain moisture and speeds up cooking. Pierce film to allow steam to escape.
  • Shape: Evenly shaped foods cook better; round containers are preferred.
  • Spacing: Space foods apart for even cooking; do not pile.
  • Starting Temperature: Colder foods take longer to heat.
  • Liquids: Stir liquids before and during heating to prevent eruptive boiling. Do not overheat.
  • Turning & Stirring: Turn meat/poultry and stir some foods halfway through cooking.
  • Arranging: Place thicker parts of individual foods towards the outside of the dish.
  • Quantity: Smaller quantities cook faster.
  • Piercing: Pierce skins or membranes of foods like potatoes, apples, sausages, and egg yolks to prevent bursting. Never boil eggs in their shells.
  • Covering: Cover foods with microwave cling film or a lid for best results (fish, vegetables, casseroles, soups).

Maintenance Features

Care and Cleaning:

  • Before Cleaning: Always turn off the oven.
  • Interior: Wipe oven walls with a damp cloth after each use. Use mild detergent for stubborn stains. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasives. Keep the waveguide cover clean to prevent overheating, smoke, or fire.
  • Exterior: Clean with soap and water, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Prevent water from seeping into ventilation openings.
  • Control Panel: Clean with a soft, dry cloth if wet. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasives.
  • Steam: Wipe away any accumulated steam with a soft cloth. This is normal in high humidity conditions.
  • Glass Tray: Remove and wash in warm sudsy water or a dishwasher. Do not operate the oven without the glass tray in place. Allow a hot glass tray to cool before cleaning. Do not cook directly on the glass tray (except popcorn).
  • Roller Guide: Clean regularly with mild sudsy water to prevent excessive noise. It must always be used with the glass tray.

Safety Precautions:

  • Never attempt to defeat or tamper with safety interlocks.
  • Do not place objects between the oven front face and the door, or allow residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
  • Do not subject the oven door to strain or weight.
  • Do not operate the oven if the door seals, hinges, or latches are damaged.
  • Do not operate the oven empty.
  • Do not dry clothes, newspapers, or other materials in the oven.
  • Avoid using recycled paper products that may contain metal impurities.
  • Do not hit or strike the control panel with hard objects.
  • Do not deep fat fry in the microwave oven.
  • Always allow a standing time after cooking.
  • Stir liquids before, during, and after heating to prevent scalding.
  • Do not leave the oven unattended while popping corn.
  • Arcing (Sparks): If arcing occurs, press Stop/Clear and correct the problem. Arcing is caused by metal/foil touching oven sides, foil not molded to food, metal utensils, or dirt/grease on the waveguide cover.

Grounding Instructions: The appliance must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. It is equipped with a 3-wire cord and grounding plug. Plug into a properly installed and grounded outlet. If an extension cord is necessary, use a 3-wire grounding type cord with a rating equal to or greater than the appliance's electrical rating. Never cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord.

Before Calling for Service: Check the power cord, door closure, cooking time setting, and circuit breaker/fuse. If sparking occurs, check for metal utensils or skewers touching interior walls. Do not attempt to service the oven yourself; contact customer service if problems persist.
