Why does my WITTUR WSG-SF motor not start or develop torque?
    • W
      William ChandlerAug 16, 2025
There are several reasons why the motor may not start or develop torque. It could be due to the motor not being connected in the proper phase sequence, the measuring system not being properly connected, or incorrect inverter parametrization. An EMC disturbance, an incorrectly set measuring system offset angle, or a defective measuring system could also be the cause. Consider the following actions: * Connect motor correctly. * Connect measuring system correctly. * Check inverter parametrisation. * Carry out shielding and earthing measures as described by the inverter manufacturer. * Check measuring system offset angle (see inverter’s instruction manual). * Replace measuring system.

What to do if the WITTUR WSG-SF Lifting Systems motor temperature is too high?
    • K
      Karen PalmerAug 19, 2025
If the motor temperature is too high, it could be due to a dirty motor surface, high ambient temperature, or incorrect inverter parametrization. Try cleaning the motor surface and improving shaft and machine room ventilation. Also, check the inverter parametrization.

Why is my WITTUR WSG-SF braking system not releasing?
    • C
      Christopher KempAug 22, 2025
If the braking system isn't releasing, it might not be getting voltage, be mechanically blocked, or have a defective brake control unit. Check the electrical connection and remove any mechanical blockages. If those steps don't resolve the issue, consider replacing the brake control unit.

Why is there a delay in the WITTUR WSG-SF braking system release?
    • P
      petersenmichelleAug 26, 2025
A delay in the braking system release is caused by a defective brake control unit. Replace the brake control unit.

How to fix loud switching noise in WITTUR WSG-SF Lifting Systems brake?
    • G
      grodriguezAug 28, 2025
Loud switching noise in the brake could be due to DC side switching of the brake in normal operation or a brake air gap that is too large. Change over to brake control by AC side switching in normal operation. Also, adjust the brake air gap.

    Thomas LivingstonAug 31, 2025
Why is my WITTUR WSG-SF braking torque too low?
    • D
      Denise NealAug 31, 2025
Low braking torque can be caused by dirty brake friction surfaces or linings, foreign bodies between the friction surface and brake lining, oily or greasy materials on the brake components, or load torque that is too high. Remove any foreign bodies and reduce the load torque. For dirty surfaces/linings or contamination with oily/greasy materials, notify customer service.

What causes motor noise in WITTUR Lifting Systems?
    • H
      haneykiaraSep 3, 2025
Motor noise can be caused by incorrect inverter parametrization or a defective bearing. Check the inverter parametrization. If the noise persists, notify customer service as the bearing may be defective.

Why is my WITTUR WSG-SF braking system not engaging?
    • M
      michaelcollinsSep 6, 2025
If the braking system does not engage, it is likely mechanically blocked. Remove the mechanical blocking.

What causes a delay in engaging of WITTUR Lifting Systems braking system?
    • F
      Frederick SantosSep 9, 2025
A delay in engaging the braking system is caused by a switch-off time that's too short with AC side switching. The solution is to use brake control using DC side switching of the overexcitation rectifier.

What to do if condition monitoring of the WITTUR WSG-SF brakes does not switch?
    • P
      powersisaacSep 12, 2025
If the condition monitoring of the brakes does not switch, the micro-switch may be defective, the micro-switch adjustment may be faulty, or the contacts may be dirty. Try adjusting or replacing the micro-switch. If the contacts are dirty, use a micro-switch with at least 10 mA contact current, or replace the micro-switch.
