Why is my Woodstock Lathe vibrating so much?
- LLaura WalkerAug 15, 2025
If your Woodstock Lathe experiences excessive vibration, several factors could be at play. It may be due to incorrect mounting of the workpiece, or the workpiece itself might be warped, out of round, or flawed. The spindle speed might be too high for the mounted workpiece. Ensure the lathe rests on an even surface by shimming the legs or adjusting the machine feet. Check and tighten the motor mounting bolts if they are loose. A worn or damaged V-belt can also cause this issue, and should be replaced. Lastly, worn spindle bearings can contribute to excessive vibration, and should be replaced.
