1. Begin by introducing your cat to the feather attachment
by dangling it from your hand in front of your cat before
attaching it to the Loco!Motion toy. Let your cat
smell the
feathers and familiarize itself with the attachment.
2. Cats love unpredictable movement (it’s how prey moves
in the wild). Experiment with the speed control dial to
determine what kind of movement your cat responds
to best.
3. While supervision is ALWAYS recommended with any cat
toy, some cats will play more aggressively if they think
they are alone. If your cat fits into this category, leave the
room and peek around the corner to keep an eye on
the fun.
4. Watch the action get certifiably insane by storing the
feather attachment in SmartyKat Certified Organic Catnip

movement of the Loco!Motion is so fun and
irresistible it gets even the laziest cats moving in
the right direction. The plastic wand with the
tempting feather attachment swivels and bends
unpredictably — driving cats crazy!

GETTING STARTED
1. Remove parts from box. (figure 1)
a. Base unit
b. Motorized column
c. Plastic wand
d. Feather attachment
2. Install (3) AA batteries (not included) in battery box of base unit.
a. Use thumbnail to remove battery box cover.
b. Push in batteries, ensuring correct polarity of batteries +/- in box.
3. Open the four stabilizer bars at the bottom of the base unit. (figure 2)
To open, gently lift stabilizer bars over the rubber skid feet. While
looking at the bottom of the base unit, rotate bars counterclockwise
and lock into place.
4. Connect motorized column to base unit. (figure 3) Be sure to turn
column clockwise to lock into place.
5. Slide plastic wand with feather attachment onto column wire.
(figure 4) Check to be sure it is securely attached.
TIME TO PLAY
1. Familiarize yourself with the simple controls on the base unit of the
Loco!Motion. (figure 5)
a. TIMER (left side)
b. SPEED CONTROL (middle)
c. ON/OFF (right side)
2. Push the ON/OFF button to start the movement. (figure 6) Pushing the
ON button one time will result in continual movement. (Use the TIMER
button to limit the time to a pre-set number of minutes).
3. Push the TIMER button to control duration of play. The toy can be
programed for 15 minutes up to 2 hours of continuous play. To set the
timer, push the TIMER button once for 15 minutes, twice for 30 minutes,
etc., up to 8 times for 2 hours. (figure 7) To reset TIMER, press the
ON/OFF button.
4. Turn the SPEED CONTROL dial clockwise to increase wand speed,
counterclockwise to decrease speed. (figure 8)

Function Description:

The Loco!Motion™ operates by moving a plastic wand with a feather attachment in an erratic and unpredictable manner. This movement mimics prey, stimulating a cat's natural hunting instincts and encouraging them to chase, pounce, and play. The toy is designed to be engaging for all cats, including those that are typically less active, by offering varied and enticing motion. It serves as a "kitty gym," providing a consistent source of exercise that can help maintain healthy weight levels and improve feline longevity and quality of life.

Important Technical Specifications:

• Power Source: The device requires three (3) AA batteries (not included) for operation, which are installed in the base unit's battery box. Correct polarity (+/-) must be observed during installation.
• Components: The toy consists of four main parts:
  • Base Unit: The foundation of the toy, housing the battery compartment and control interface. It features four stabilizer bars at the bottom that can be opened and locked into place to ensure stability during play.
  • Motorized Column: This component connects to the base unit and contains the mechanism that drives the wand's movement. It locks into the base unit by turning clockwise.
  • Plastic Wand: A flexible wand that attaches to the motorized column wire.

• Assembly:

     • Push once for 15 minutes.
     • Push twice for 30 minutes.
     • Continue pushing up to eight times for a maximum of 2 hours.
     • To reset the timer, press the ON/OFF button.
  3. Adjusting Speed: Turn the SPEED CONTROL dial clockwise to increase the wand's speed and counterclockwise to decrease it.
• Playtime Hints:
  • Introduction: Before attaching the feather to the toy, introduce it to your cat by dangling it from your hand. This allows the cat to smell and familiarize itself with the attachment.
  • Experimentation: Cats respond well to unpredictable movement. Experiment with the speed control dial to find the movement pattern your cat enjoys most.
  • Supervision: While supervision is always recommended with any cat toy, some cats may play more aggressively when they believe they are alone. Users can observe from a distance to monitor play.
