3. Hold the power tool by insulated
gripping surfaces only, because the
cutter blade may contact hidden
wiring or its own cord. Cutter blades
contacting alivewire may make exposed
metal parts of the power tool liveand could
give the operator an electric shock.
4. Keep cable away from cutting area.
During operation the cable may be hidden
in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by the
blade.
5. Keep hands away from blade. Contact
with blade will result in serious personal
injury.
6. Use both hands when operating the
hedge trimmer. Using one hand could
cause loss of control and result in
serious personal injury
7. Only use with handle and guard
properly assembled to hedge
trimmer. The use of the hedge
trimmer without the proper guard or
handle provided may result in serious
personal injury
8. Check the hedge for foreign objects,
e.g. wire fences
9. Recommendation for the use of a residual
current device with a tripping current of 30
mA or less.
SAFETY RULES FOR EXTENSION CORD
Make sure your extension cord is in good
condition. When using an extension cord,
be sure to use one heavy enough to carry
the current your product will draw. An
undersized extension cord will cause a drop
in line voltage resulting in loss of power and
overheating. Table 1 shows the correct size to
use depending on cord length and nameplate
ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next
heavier gage. The smaller the gage number,
the heavier the cord. To reduce the risk of
disconnection of appliance cord from the
extension cord during operating:
I) Make a knot as shown in Figure 1; or
II) Use one of the plug-receptacle retaining
straps or connectors described in this manual.
