Do you have a question about the Wuzhi ZK-FX25 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the ZK-FX25/35 Electronic Load Tester, a USB electronic load tester designed for various testing needs. It features both a USB test port and a terminal interface, making it versatile for different customer requirements. The device incorporates a liquid crystal display (LCD) interface that provides real-time information, ensuring a user-friendly and easy-to-understand experience.
The ZK-FX25/35 operates with a separate power supply design, which means the measuring and display circuits do not draw power from the test port. This design choice enhances the accuracy and reliability of measurements. The LCD display is capable of showing a comprehensive set of information, including load input voltage, input current, input power, discharge mAh, discharge time, and the product's internal temperature.
A key feature of this electronic load tester is its complete protection mechanism. It includes safeguards against under-voltage, over-voltage, over-current, over-power, and over-temperature conditions. These protections ensure the safety of both the device and the tested equipment during operation.
The discharge current is regulated by a long-handled potentiometer, allowing for manual adjustment without the need for additional tools. This design simplifies the process of setting the desired current. Furthermore, the device offers voltage and current correction functions, catering to customers who require high-precision measurements.
The device's LCD display operates in several modes. In normal mode, the top line shows the load input voltage and load temperature, while the bottom line displays load current, power, capacity, and discharge time. When in protection mode, the LCD will show a specific protection code, indicating the type of fault. In setting mode, the LCD displays parameter codes and their corresponding thresholds.
Current adjustment is straightforward, achieved by rotating the potentiometer. Clockwise rotation increases the discharge current, while counter-clockwise rotation decreases it.
The ZK-FX25/35 includes a sound-light alarm system. When the load is active, the "RUN" indicator light remains on, and the buzzer is silent. When the load is off, the "RUN" indicator turns off, and the buzzer remains silent. If the device enters a protection mode, the buzzer will beep, and the "RUN" indicator will flash, alerting the user to a potential issue.
For thermal management, the device incorporates intelligent fan cooling. The fan automatically activates when the load discharge power exceeds 10W or when the internal temperature surpasses 40°C, ensuring optimal operating conditions and preventing overheating.
The tester automatically records discharge capacity and discharge time when the load is active (indicated by a normally on "RUN" light). These statistics are useful for evaluating battery storage. To reset these statistics, a long press of the "-" button is required. It is recommended to clear statistical data before starting a new test. The device also allows users to set maximum discharge capacity (OAH) and maximum discharge time (OHP) thresholds. If these thresholds are exceeded, the load will automatically shut off, enabling unattended discharge experiments.
The ZK-FX25/35 boasts a robust software and hardware protection mechanism. Software protection thresholds are adjustable, and once triggered, the output is turned off. Hardware protection includes reverse connection protection for both the module's power supply port and the load input port. Software protection includes Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), with a default of 25.5V (user-adjustable), which causes the "RUN" indicator to flash and the LCD to display "OVP" upon activation. Over-Current Protection (OCP) is also implemented, with defaults of 4.10A for ZK-FX25 and 5.10A for ZK-FX35 (user-adjustable), leading to a flashing "RUN" indicator and "OCP" on the LCD. Over-Power Protection (OPP) defaults to 25.5W for ZK-FX25 and 35.5W for ZK-FX35 (user-adjustable), resulting in a flashing "RUN" indicator and "OPP" on the LCD. Over-Temperature Protection (OTP) defaults to 80°C (user-adjustable), causing the "RUN" light to flash and "OTP" to display. Low-Voltage Protection (LVP) defaults to 1.5V (user-adjustable), and when activated, the "RUN" indicator flashes, and "LVP" is displayed. LVP is particularly useful in battery discharge tests to prevent excessive discharge and battery damage.
By default, the load is off. To start or shut down the load after power-on, the "ON/SET" key must be pressed. All configured parameters are saved even after power is turned off.
The device's interface includes a boot screen that displays the product model (ZK-FX25 or ZK-FX35) before transitioning to the normal mode interface. In normal mode, a short press of the "SELECT" button cycles through the display of current, power, discharge capacity, and discharge time. A long press of "SELECT" switches the display between voltage and module temperature.
Protection mode is activated when working parameters exceed allowable values, displaying a fault code, turning off the load, flashing the LED, and sounding the buzzer. Pressing "ON/SET" exits protection mode. Fault codes include LVP (under-voltage), OVP (over-voltage), OCP (over-current), OPP (over-power), OTP (over-temperature), OAP (over-capacity), OHP (timeout), and P122 Err (load-failure).
To enter setting mode from normal mode, long-press the "ON/SET" button. In setting mode, long-pressing "ON/SET" returns to normal mode. Within setting mode, the "SELECT" button switches between parameters, and the "+" or "-" buttons adjust their values. For timeout and overcapacity protection interfaces, the "ON/SET" button toggles these protections on or off (they are off by default).
The manual emphasizes careful reading before use to prevent damage. Any damage due to improper use or unauthorized modification will void returns or replacements. The device requires a 5V DC power supply; using AC power or over-voltage will damage the module. The load input voltage must be between 1.5V and 25V, and the current should not exceed 4A for ZK-FX25 or 5A for ZK-FX35. The load input port must not be short-circuited, as this will burn out the product. Users should prevent moisture exposure and avoid short-circuiting components on the circuit board or touching pins and pads by hand.
The manufacturer explicitly states that this product is not intended for use in medical, life-saving, flammable, explosive, or similar critical applications, and disclaims responsibility for any consequences arising from such misuse.
