CD-15A Rapid Charger
The CD-15A is a Rapid Charger that enables recharging of the Lithium-ion Battery Packs
for the Yaesu transceiver

.
Operation
1. Insert the DC plug from the SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-48U into the DC jack on
the CD-
15A rear panel, then plug the SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-48U into the
AC line outlet.
2. Insert the battery pack into the CD-15A. If charging with the transceiver attached,
the antenna jack should be at the left side when viewing the charger from the front. If
charging a pack alone (not attached to the transceiver), refer to the illustration below
for details on proper positioning of the pack; align the slot of the battery pack with the
guide in the nest of the CD-15A.
3. If the battery pack is inserted correctly, the Red “
CHARGING
” indicator will glow.
A fully-discharged FNB-80LI battery pack will be charged completely in approximate-
ly 2.5 hours.
4. When charging is completed, the Red “
CHARGING
” indicator will disappear, and the
Green “
FULL
” indicator will glow. Disconnect the pack from the CD-15A, and unplug
the
SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-48U from the AC line outlet.
Important Notes!

Do not connect an improper charger. Use only the
SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-
48U with the CD-15A.

 Donotchargeanimproperbattery(onenotspecicallydesignedforuseintheCD-
15A).

Disconnect the pack from the CD-15A, and unplug the
SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or
PA-48U from the AC line outlet, when charging is completed.

The
SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-48U and/or CD-15A will generate a moderate
amount of heat during the charging process. This is a normal condition.

The
SAD-11B, PA-48B, PA-48C or PA-48U is not designed to power the transceiver
for transmission.
Caution!!

When charging a battery pack alone (not attached to the transceiver), do not allow
any metal object to short the terminals on top of the pack.

Do not allow any metal objects to short the terminals in the nest of the CD-15A, as a
short-circuit could cause overheating of the charger circuitry.
