Probable Causes and Test Procedures
7. Check Line contactor coil diode:
a. Disconnect diode from one side of coil, should read open in one direction, shorting in the other.
b. The cathode (drawn line) should be on wire 10 side:
YES- Diode OK, coil must be at fault.
NO- Diode damaged, replace.
8. Check LC coil connections for short:
a. Disconnect CPS41 and measure between coil connections on harness side, is resistance > 1
kOhms?
YES- No harness fault found, controller driver may be at fault, Proceed to step 9.
NO- Locate shorted wires in harness, separate, and repair wires / pin / crimps.
9. Check controller line coil driver for short:
a. Measure between Pin 12 of traction controller and B−. Does resistance measure < 1k Ohms?
