12544 Re-key RH Traction
Node 5
DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Wrong Battery voltage connected to truck, or out
of range - (RH Node 5)
Truck disabled.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
4. Check for shorts between the each (U, V, and W) controller phase connections (U, V, and W) and battery
negative (B−). Is there a short present?
YES- Proceed to Step 4a.
NO- Proceed to Step 5.
a. Determine if the short is internal to the controller by disconnecting the phase connections from the
controller and checking for a short between the controller phase terminals to B−.
b. Is the short internal to the controller?
YES- Replace the controller.
NO- Troubleshoot the wiring and motor and electrical components to locate and repair the
short.
5. Verify proper KEY-IN voltage to RH Traction Drive:
a. Ensure B+ Voltage exists at Pins 7 and 10 of CPS41 RH traction controller.
YES- Proceed to step 5.
NO- Proceed to step 4b.
b. Inspect GND (NEG-2 BLK) wire for continuity between B− Battery connector & ACE0 Traction
Drive B− terminal.
YES- Proceed to step 4c.
NO- Repair NEG-2 wire / crimp terminal / check bolt torque.
c. Verify wire continuity from Pin 7 and 10 of CPS41 to KEY-SW IGN terminal.
d. Verify KEY-SW continuity between BAT and IGN terminals when switched to "ON."
YES- Check for blown FU1 fuse.
NO- Replace faulty KEY-SW Inspect GND (NEG-2 BLK) wire, and POS (RED 010) for
proper connections.
