DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Steering potentiometer is detected to be out of
programmed range - (RH Node 3)
No Traction at startup. While operational, will regen
down and be limited to Mode 1. Steer angle defaults to
straight.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. Verify traction speed limited to MODE 1:
YES- Proceed to step 2.
NO- Check other codes before troubleshooting this code.
2. Perform recalibration, and re-key, does fault go away?
YES- Proceed to step 3.
NO- Proceed to step 4.
3. Move steer to both limits, if it doesn't show +/-90 degrees or errors occur?
YES- Proceed to step 4.
NO- Sensor may have shifted over time, check bolt tightness, return to service.
4. Check that pot wiper voltage on Pin 2 of CPS30 is between 4 to 8V as steer moves to limits.
YES- Proceed to step 6.
NO- Ensure sensor mounted correctly, if so, proceed to step 5.
5. Physically adjust pot shaft per instruction manual and retest. Does this resolve problem?
YES- Monitor and release truck for operation.
NO- Proceed to step 6.
6. Verify pot sensor continuity between Pin 2 of CPS30 to Pin 30 of RH traction controller.
YES- Controller may be faulty, contact Service Engineering.
NO- Repair the open wire/pin/crimp, and retest.
