Node 4
DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Damaged on/off coil driver, unable to activate
coil - (LH Node 4)
Tilt back, 4th functions, SPED 3 & 4 outputs
non-operational.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. Identify which function is no longer operational.
2. Verify Coil has power, measure wire 200 of coil, referenced to B−, is 36V present?
YES- Coil may be open, proceed to step 3 to test.
NO- Proceed to step 4.
3. Check coil resistance:
a. Measure across the coil of the valve in question, is it between 10 and 50 Ohms?
YES- Coil not at fault proceed to step 4.
NO- Coil shown to be open or shorted internally, replace coil.
4. Check coil wiring:
• Pin 8 (to Pin 3 of CPS300) - SPED Out 3 (wire 722)
• Pin 9 (to Pin 4 of CPS300) - SPED Out 4 (wire 723)
• Pin 11 (SV2 B) – Tilt Back (wire 802)
• Pin 23 (SV2 A) – Tilt Forward (wire 803)
• Pin 33 (SV6 A) – 4th Function A (wire 806)
a. Measure from Pin __ (above) to corresponding coil connector. Does each wire measure continuity?
YES- Proceed to step 4b.
NO- Repair wire, pin, or crimp (replace harness only if not repairable).
b. Disconnect coil connector and check for shorted wiring, across connector and verify resistance >
470k Ohms.
YES- No wiring fault found, proceed to step 5.
NO- Determine location of short in wiring, separate and repair.
