DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
PV3 Aux proportional valve coil is open - (LH
Node 4)
Auxiliary functions will not operate. Lift/Lower still op-
erable.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. Are only Auxiliary Hydraulic functions disabled?
YES- Proceed to step 2.
NO- Review other hydraulic related codes and resolve.
2. Verify PV3 Coil has power, measure wire 200 of coil, referenced to B−, is 36V present?
YES- Coil may be open, proceed to step 3 to test.
NO- Proceed to step 4.
3. Check coil resistance:
a. Measure across the coil of the valve in question, is it between 10 and 100 Ohms?
YES- Coil not at fault proceed to step 4.
NO- Coil shown to be open or shorted internally, replace coil.
4. Check coil wiring:
a. Measure from Pin 24 (CPS42) to PV3 coil connector (Wire 820) for continuity.
YES- Proceed to step 4b.
NO- Repair wire, pin, or crimp (replace harness only if not repairable).
b. Check for shorted wiring, by measuring across coil connector and verifying resistance > 470k
Ohms.
YES- No wiring fault found, proceed to step 5.
NO- Determine location of short in wiring, separate and repair.
5. Verify if controller drive at fault:
a. Measure voltage across coil while activating coil function, does voltage transition to 0V to B+?
YES- Controller not at fault, replace coil.
NO- Controller faulted, contact Service Engineering.
