DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Contactor detected as stuck closed - (RH Node 3) Parking brake dropped, all functions disabled.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. With the B+ disconnected, is the contactor closed?
YES- Proceed to step 2.
NO- Proceed to step 3.
2. Determine if contactor stuck due to foreign material or arc-welded tips.
a. Try to pry contactor plate open.
b. Remove any visible foreign material, dust or dirt build-up.
c. Is the plate now open and clear?
YES- Reconnect B+ and attempt truck operation (ensure contactor engages and disengages
properly).
NO- Plate is stuck / welded, replace contactor.
3. Is contactor coming on immediately upon key-on (no delay)?
YES- Proceed to step 4.
NO- Proceed to step 5.
4. Check controller for coil short:
a. Disconnect coil (wire 075) from controller.
b. Measure from controller Pin 12 to B−, is resistance > 1k Ohms?
YES- Controller not at fault, proceed to step 5.
NO- Replace controller, contact Service Engineering.
