GASOLINE
AND ENGINE OIL
FILLING
FILLING THE GASOLINE TANK
Open the fuel tank filler cap, and slow-
ly add fuel to the fuel
tank. Be careful not to
spill fuel or overfill the
tank.
Stop filling when the fuel just becomes
visible in the bottom of the filler tube.
Do not “top off” the tank, because
gasoline could spill out. Be sure to
tighten the cap securely.
Be careful when refueling. Avoid
getting water or other contaminants
in the fuel tank. Contaminated fuel
can cause poor running or engine
damage.
Fuel tank capacity: 41 US gal (155.2 lit)

ENGINE OIL
Recommended oil: YAMALUBE 2-W. If
YAMALUBE 2-W is not available,
another 2-cycle engine oil with a
NMMA
®
-certified TC-W3
rating may
be used.
OIL INJECTION
SYSTEM
These engines use Yamaha's oil injec-
tion system, which provides superior
lubrication by ensuring the proper oil
ratio for all operating conditions. No
fuel premixing is necessary (except
during break-in). Simply pour gasoline
into the fuel tank and oil into the oil
tank.
Do not allow the
oil tank to empty
completely. The
oil injection pump must be bled to
ensure proper oil flow after the tank
empties. Otherwise, engine damage
may occur. Refer to page 4-13,
“Bleeding the Oil Injection Pump”
for correct procedure.
