Overview

This document is a user manual for the Yamaha Seascooter™ Scout, Seal, and Explorer models, which are electrically operated personal underwater propulsion devices. These devices are designed for recreational use in pools or calm waters near the shore, and are not intended for use in the open sea. They are not life-saving devices and should not be used as buoyancy aids.

Function Description:

The Yamaha Seascooters provide underwater propulsion for swimming and snorkeling. They are designed to enhance the fun and excitement of water activities for users aged 8 and up (with adult supervision for children under 8). The devices feature positive buoyancy, protective grilles, an auto shut-off mechanism when triggers are released, and a safety lock. Users must always wear an approved life vest (PFD) when operating the seascooter.

  • In-Water Operation: Only operate the Seascooter in water.
  • Buoyancy: Designed for use in seawater; will have less buoyancy in fresh water, lakes, or pools and may sink.
  • Pre-Use Checks: Always inspect the swimming area for hazards. Be aware of water levels, tidal changes, currents, weather, and winds.
  • Hair Safety: Users with long hair should tie it up or wear a swimming cap to prevent entanglement with the propeller.
