CHARGING SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING
Procedures
Check:
1. Fuse
2. Battery
3. Charging voltage
4. Stator coil resistance
5. System connections
BATTERY NOT CHARGING
1. Fuse
• Remove fuse.
• Connect the tester ( x1) to the fuse.
• Check the fuse for continuity.
See Section “FUSE INSPECTION,”
CHAPTER 3.

Defective fuse – replace.

NOTE:
• Remove the following parts before starting the analysis:
1) Side covers (RH)
2) Seat
• Use the following device for analysis:
Inductive tachometer:

Multimeter:
90890-03112
2. Battery
• Check battery conditions:
See Section “BATTERY INSPECTION,”
CHAPTER 3.
Minimum tension:12.8 V
• Clean terminals.
• Recharge or replace battery.
• Replenish with distilled water.
