Why won't my Yamaha Snow Blower engine start?

  If your Yamaha Snow Blower's engine won't start, ensure the engine switch is in the “ON” position, then switch it to “START”. Also, check that the fuel cock lever is set to “RUN” and the throttle lever is at the “FAST (START)” position. Verify the fuse hasn't blown and that the battery has sufficient charge; if it seems exhausted, have a Yamaha dealer charge it. If you operated the starter motor for more than 5 seconds or left the engine switch in the “ON” position for a long time with the engine stopped, ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. If it seems to be exhausted, have a Yamaha dealer charge it.

  If your Yamaha Snow Blower engine stalls while clearing snow or traveling, check for snow or water around the fuel tank cap; remove it if present. Also, ensure that the quantity of cleared snow does not exceed the top of the auger housing.

  If the blowing of snow suddenly stops during snow clearing with your Yamaha Snow Blower, check if the auger shear bolt or the impeller shear bolt is broken and replace it if needed. Remove any snow lodged in the chute or unfreeze the impeller if its smooth rotation is prevented by frozen snow between it and the impeller housing. If rubber protrudes from the inside of the shear bolt guard or the rubber strength is beyond its limit, have a Yamaha dealer replace the shear bolt guard.
