What to do if Yard Pro Lawn Mower has loss of power?
    • V
      Vincent TannerNov 27, 2025
If your Yard Pro Lawn Mower experiences a loss of power, there are several potential causes. You might be cutting too much grass or going too fast, so raise the cutting height and reduce your speed. Check that the throttle isn't in the "CHOKE" position and adjust it accordingly. Make sure the oil level is correct and the oil isn't dirty, so check and change the oil if needed. Other possible issues include a faulty spark plug (clean, regap, or replace it), a dirty fuel filter (replace it), stale or dirty fuel (empty the tank and refill with fresh gasoline), water in the fuel (empty the tank and carburetor, re...

You might be traveling too fast, so shift to a slower speed. Wet grass can also cause this issue, so allow the grass to dry before mowing. Ensure the mower deck is level. Check the tires for proper air pressure. Other factors include a worn, bent, or loose blade (replace the blade and tighten the blade bolt), a buildup of grass, leaves, and trash under the mower (clean the underside of the mower housing), a worn mower drive belt (replace it), improperly installed blades (reinstall them with the sharp edge down), improper blades (replace with blades listed in the parts manual), or clogged mower deck vent holes from buildu...
