This document is the owner's manual for the Yardworks 20V 2.0Ah Lithium-Ion Replacement Battery, model BL82120-1, designed for use with Yardworks 20V tools.

Function Description

The Yardworks 20V 2.0Ah Lithium-Ion Replacement Battery serves as a power source for Yardworks 20V tools. It is a rechargeable battery designed to provide dependable, safe, and trouble-free performance. The manual emphasizes that the battery must be charged before its first use, and two to three initial charging/discharging cycles may be required to achieve maximum run time and capacity.

Usage Features

Charging:

• Initial Charge: The battery must be charged before first use. It may take 2-3 charging/discharging cycles to reach full capacity.
• Charger Connection: Connect the charger to a 120V, 60Hz AC power supply. The charger light will be GREEN when powered on.
• Battery Insertion: Slide the battery pack into the charger, ensuring proper contact.
• Charging Indicator: A constant RED light indicates the battery is charging. A constant GREEN light indicates a full charge.
• Charge Time: A minimum of 80 minutes is required for a completely discharged battery. The battery may become warm during charging, which is normal.
• Storage: Fully charge the battery every 90 days, especially for winter storage. Do not store in a fully discharged condition to prevent permanent damage.
• Hot Battery: If the battery pack becomes hot from continuous use, allow it to cool for approximately 30 minutes before recharging.

  • Charge only with specified Yardworks 20V chargers within the recommended temperature range.
  • Do not place the charger in areas of extreme heat or cold.
• Chemical Exposure: If battery liquid comes into contact with skin, wash with soap and water and neutralize with a mild acid (lemon juice/vinegar). If it gets in eyes, flush with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
• California Proposition 65 Warning: The electrical cord may contain chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects. Wash hands after handling.

General Maintenance:

• Servicing: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts to ensure product safety and prevent damage.
• Cleaning: Avoid contact between plastic parts and brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or penetrating oils, as these chemicals can damage or destroy plastic.
