Function Description:
The YoLink Relay acts as a switch, enabling users to turn devices on or off remotely or through automated schedules. It can handle switched currents up to 5 amps at 120VAC or 30VDC. For loads exceeding 5 amps, an external "dumb relay" with appropriate contact ratings is required. The relay can function as either a controller or a responder in a YoLink Control setup, allowing direct device-to-device communication.

Usage Features:
Setup and Installation:
- YoLink App Integration: Download the YoLink app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Existing users proceed to add the device. New users must create an account.
- Hub Requirement: A YoLink Hub is required for app-based control. Ensure the Hub is connected to the internet (green LED indicator) and the home network (blue LED indicator).
- Device Pairing: Tap the "Add Device" button in the app and scan the QR code on the relay.
- Power Up: Connect the 5-24V DC power supply (not included) to the relay. The Status LED will blink red once, then green several times, indicating cloud connection. If it fails to connect, press the SET button once.
- Wiring:
- Loosen the four terminals on the YoLink Relay using a small slotted screwdriver.
- Connect the positive (white or red) wire from the power supply to the "DC+ 5-24V" terminal.
- Connect the negative (black) wire from the power supply to the "DC- 5-24V" terminal.
- Terminate the wires on the equipment or device to the Relay terminals.
- Important Safety Notice: For 120V control wiring, turn off the circuit breaker and confirm power is off with a voltage tester. For low voltage, disconnect or power off the supply. Failure to follow instructions can result in injury or death.
- The YoLink Relay is for dry environments only.
- If the switched current exceeds 5 amps, use an external "dumb relay" with appropriate contact ratings.
- Ensure all connections are secure.
- Testing: After installation, turn on the circuit(s) at the controlled equipment and power on the YoLink Relay. Use the YoLink app to test the relay's operation (turn it on/off).
- Mounting:
- Method A (Electrical Box): Place the relay inside a suitable plastic electrical junction box. Avoid metal boxes if possible, or test signal strength if a metal box is necessary. A plastic cover may improve signal in a metal box.
- Method B (Wall-mounting): Use double-sided mounting tape (not included). Clean the installation area, apply tape to the back of the relay, and press firmly for at least 5 seconds in the desired position.

- Details: Access detailed information about the relay.
- Connection Status: View the connection status of the relay and Hub.
- Real-time Status: See if the relay is turned on or off.
- Control Button: Manually turn the relay on or off.
- Timer: Set one-time timers for the relay.
- Schedule: Create on/off schedules to automate the relay's operation.
- Details Page: Displays device type, name, room, favorite status, history, state, power on status, model, device EUI, SN, signal intensity, and firmware version. Allows renaming, adding/removing from favorites, and deleting the device.
- Timer: Set specific durations for the relay to turn on or off. The timer runs once.
- Schedule: Create multiple on/off schedules. Schedules are saved in the cloud.
- Scene: Pre-set scenes can be edited or deleted. Allows adding new scenes with specific behaviors.
- Automation: Set up "If This Then Do That" rules. The YoLink Relay can be a trigger or an action device (turn on/off).
- Voice Assistants: Connect to Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT for voice control and integration.
YoLink Control (Device-to-Device Pairing):
- Pairing as Responder:
- Turn on the YoLink Relay using the ON button or the YoLink app (Status LED should be green).
- Press and hold the SET button for 5-10 seconds until the LED quickly blinks green, then release.
- The LED will stop blinking upon successful pairing.
- Unpairing as Responder:
- Press and hold the POWER button for 10-15 seconds until the LED quickly blinks green, then red.
- The LED will stop blinking and turn off, and the relay LED will stop blinking and return to the previous color (green for turned on, red for turned off). The YoLink Relay will no longer respond when the door is open.
Maintenance Features:
- Firmware Update:
- YoLink recommends updating to the newest firmware version when available.
- In the "Firmware" section of the device details, if a new version is listed, click to start the update.
- The device can be used during the update, which runs in the background.
- The LED light will slowly blink green during the update, and the process completes within 2 minutes after the light stops blinking.
- Factory Reset:
- Erases all settings and restores factory defaults, but the device remains in your YoLink account.
- Hold the SET button for 20-25 seconds until the status light blinks red and green alternately, then release.
- Holding the SET button longer than 25 seconds will abort the factory reset.
- The factory reset is complete when the status light stops blinking.
Warnings and Safety:
- Do not connect more than 5A (resistive) switched current.
- Do not install or use the device outside the specified temperature and humidity range.
- Do not install or use the device where it will be subjected to high temperatures and/or open flame.
- The device is not waterproof and is intended only for indoor use. Avoid direct sunlight, extreme hot or cold temperatures, rain, water, and/or condensation.
- Install or use the device only in clean environments. Dusty or dirty environments may prevent proper operation.
- If the YoLink Relay gets dirty, clean it by wiping it down with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use strong chemicals or detergents, which may discolor or damage the exterior and/or damage the electronics.
- Do not install or use the device where it will be subjected to physical impacts and/or strong vibration.
- Contact Customer Service before attempting to repair, disassemble, or modify the device.
