Overview

The Youha TheONE Double Electric Breast Pump is a high-quality, closed system designed to offer a comfortable and efficient way for mothers to express breastmilk. It can be used for single or double pumping, providing flexibility for different needs. The pump is designed for discreet use, making it suitable for use at home or in the office.

Function Description:

The Youha TheONE Double Electric Breast Pump is engineered to facilitate breastmilk expression through a combination of massage, express, and deep express modes, as well as a customizable manual mode. The pump's motor unit generates vacuum suction, which is transferred through tubing to the breast shields, stimulating milk let-down and expression. The system is designed to be a personal care item, ensuring hygiene and safety for the user.

Usage Features:

The pump features a sleek and compact design with an easy-to-use touchscreen interface. The display shows the current mode (Express, Massage, Deep Express), vacuum indicator, vacuum setting, cycle setting, timer, and battery indicator.

  • Modes of Operation:

    • Massage Mode: This mode runs for two minutes to stimulate milk let-down before automatically switching to the last-used express mode. Users can adjust the massage level using the Increase and Reduce buttons.
    • Express Mode: Once milk flow begins, users can switch to express mode for efficient milk extraction.
    • Deep Express Mode: This mode offers a more intense expression for experienced users.
    • Mixed Mode: This advanced setting integrates cycles of massage mode between express or deep express mode cycles, providing a varied pumping experience. To activate, hold the Mode button for three seconds until both Massage and Express icons appear. The suction and cycle levels in mixed mode are the same as in massage and express modes, allowing for adjustment to fit individual comfort.
    • Manual Mode: For those who find the preset modes not quite right, manual mode allows for customization of both vacuum strength and cycle length. Users can set their preferred vacuum level using the Vacuum Setting button and the Increase/Reduce buttons, and then adjust the cycle level using the Cycle Setting button and the Increase/Reduce buttons. The pump will remember the last custom setting used in manual mode.
  • Pumping Configuration:

    • Double Breast Pumping: Uses a Y-shape tubing, with each short end connected to a membrane cap of a pumping kit, and the long end connected to the right side of the motor unit.
    • Single Breast Pumping: Can be achieved by inserting the unused short tubing back into the Y-shape tubing connector to close the vacuum loop, or by swapping to a single tubing.
  • Battery and Charging: The pump includes a battery indicator that shows the charge level (completely charged, half full, low, or flat). When the battery is low (flashing red indicator), it requires charging. The power cable is inserted into the connection point on the left side of the motor unit, and the unit is plugged into a power outlet. The battery indicator will show a green light when fully charged. It is advised not to leave the motor unit on charge for longer than 24 hours to prevent permanent damage.

  • Lock Function: The On/Off button can be held for five seconds to lock the screen, preventing accidental changes during operation. A 'lock' icon will appear, and a beep will sound. To unlock, hold the On/Off button for five seconds again until a countdown from five to zero displays, followed by a double peep. This function can be used whether the pump is on or off.

  • Automatic Shut-off: The pump automatically shuts off after 30 minutes, aligning with common recommendations for expressing duration per session.

  • Breast Shield Converters: The system includes breast shield converters (size 24 to 21) to ensure a proper fit. It is crucial to ensure the converter seals completely by pressing it down along the rim of the breast shield and removing any trapped air. A dust cap is provided to keep the silicone free from dust when preparing the pump.

Maintenance Features:

Proper cleaning and sanitization are essential for the safe and effective use of the Youha TheONE Double Electric Breast Pump.

  • Parts that Contact Breastmilk: These parts must be cleaned and sanitized before first use and after each subsequent use.

    • Before First Use: Disassemble all parts, wash in warm soapy water, rinse well, submerge in a pot of water and boil for 3-5 minutes (using a large pot to prevent parts from touching the sides or bottom), shake off excess water, and air dry on a dedicated rack or clean cloth.
    • After Each Use: Disassemble parts that contact breastmilk, rinse with cold water to remove milk residue, wash in warm soapy water (valves can be gently rubbed between fingers), rinse well, shake off excess water, and air dry.
    • Sanitization: Follow the cleaning steps (B1-4) and then submerge parts in a pot of water, boiling for 3-5 minutes. Shake off excess water and air dry.
  • Parts that Do Not Contact Breastmilk: These parts include the motor unit, charger, tubing, tubing connector, and membrane cap. They do not require cleaning after each use but should be cleaned prior to first use and whenever necessary.

    • Motor Unit and Charger: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth when the unit is off and locked. Do not submerge in water or sanitiser.
    • Tubing and Membrane Cap: Can be cleaned following the same steps as parts that contact breastmilk. Ensure tubing is completely dry before use to prevent condensation.
  • Replacement Schedule:

    • Valves: Replace every 1 month, or sooner if signs of wear or weakness are observed, to maintain good suction. Two spare valves are included.
    • PPSU Bottles and Storage Lids: Replace at signs of wear or every 3-6 months.
    • Teats: Inspect prior to each use and pull in each direction. Replace at signs of wear, weakness, or every 2-3 months, especially if worn by biting.
    • All Other Pump Parts: Replace at signs of wear or weakness, or after 3 months of use.
  • Care Guidelines:

    • Avoid harsh detergents or hard scourers and sponges, as they can scratch or damage the product. Exposure to detergent may also make silicone parts appear cloudy.
    • Electric steam sterilisers (which may overheat parts) or UV sterilisers are not recommended as they can shorten the lifespan or damage parts.
    • Do not use a cleaning brush inside the valves, as this can damage them and shorten their lifespan.
    • Store all parts in a cool, dry space, away from direct sunlight.
    • Keep out of reach of children, as the product contains small parts that could pose a choking hazard.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides solutions for common issues such as condensation in tubing (ensure tubing is completely dry), milk in tubing (check membrane for damage, clean/sanitise/replace membrane or tubing), low or no suction (ensure correct breast shield fit, check tubing connection for single pumping, ensure all parts are assembled securely, check valves for damage/wear), and nipple pain (seek advice from a lactation consultant).
