  If the bag won't seal, first check for gaps, folds, wrinkles, or holes in the pre-sealed edges. If you are trying to seal foods with high liquid content, the moisture may prevent proper sealing; cut the bag open, wipe the top inside, and try resealing. Ensure the bag is placed correctly, especially when making a bag from a roll, making sure the cut end is on the sealing strip. Finally, allow the appliance to cool down for 20 seconds between seals.

If sealing foods with high liquid content, the moisture may interfere with sealing; try cutting the bag open, wiping the top inside, and resealing. Also, confirm the bag is correctly inserted into the sealing foam chamber and, when using a roll, that the cut end is placed on the sealing bar.

  If air has seeped back into the vacuumed bag, check the bag's seal for any holes or wrinkles that may be allowing air to re-enter. Ensure there is no moisture or liquid from the food within the bag seal. Make sure that no food items with sharp edges have punctured the bag and that no liquids were drawn to the sealing strip area. Also, check for loose, worn, or cracked Upper and Lower sealing gaskets. If you are sealing foods with high liquid content, cut the bag open, wipe the top inside of the bag, and reseal.

How to fix a YS VS66 Food Saver bag that melts?

  If the bag melts, the sealing strip may be too hot. Allow the unit to cool for 20 seconds between uses. If the bag continues to melt, allow the unit to cool with the lid in the upright position for 25 minutes before using it again.

What to do if nothing happens when pressing both sides of the lid on my YS VS66 Food Saver?

  If nothing happens when you press both sides of the lid, ensure the power cord is correctly plugged into the electrical outlet and that the cord is not damaged. Verify the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another appliance. Also, make sure the bag is positioned correctly in the sealing foam chamber. If the unit seems unresponsive, wait 25 minutes for it to cool off before trying again.
