Models: 16-32x50, 20-50x50, & 20-50x50 WA
Instructions
This manual will help familiarize you with the features, operations and maintenance of the Yukon Variable Power
Spotting Scope. The unique design of the scope utilizes the folded light path Newtonian - style reflecting mirror and lens
optical system. This design allows the scope to provide high magnification and image quality in a compact 9-inch long
body. The Yukon is sold with an optional tripod/car window mount kit.
Focusing
1. Remove the scope from the carrying case.
2. Remove protective lens caps.
3. Rotate zoom mechanism to the desired power.
4. Adjust the eyepiece until scope comes into focus. With high magnification you may need to use a tripod to
control unwanted image vibration.
Care and Maintenance
1. Your Yukon scope is designed to be durable and maintenance free. Clean the rubber-coated body with a cloth
rag using a small amount of rubber protectant.
2. When cleaning the optics use a light coating of lens cleaning solution on a cotton cloth. Do not pour lens
cleaner on the lens itself.
3. Condensation on the lens may occur when bringing the scope in from the cold. This is common and within one
hour this condition should disappear.
4. Do not submerge the scope into water, as it is water - resistant but not waterproof.
Limited Warranty
The Manufacturer warrants its night vision products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one
year from the original date of purchase. Any device returned for warranty service must be judged by Kalinka Optics
Warehouse as having been used according to its original design intents. As such, misuse, neglect, or any abnormal use
is not covered by this warranty. Product malfunction or deterioration due to normal use is not covered by this warranty.

Product Specifications

Overview

The Kalinka Optics Warehouse User Manual describes the Yukon Variable Power Spotting Scope, a device designed for observation with high magnification and image quality. This spotting scope utilizes a unique optical system featuring a folded light path Newtonian-style reflecting mirror and lens, allowing for a compact design despite its powerful capabilities.

Function Description:

The Yukon Variable Power Spotting Scope is primarily used for observation, providing magnified views of distant objects. Its variable power feature allows users to adjust the magnification to suit different viewing needs, from wider fields of view at lower magnifications to detailed observation at higher magnifications. The Newtonian optical system contributes to its compact size, making it a portable option for various outdoor activities such as bird watching, hunting, target shooting, or general nature observation. The scope is designed to deliver clear images, even at high magnifications, and can be used with an optional tripod or car window mount kit for enhanced stability, especially when operating at higher power settings where image vibration can become noticeable.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual details three models of the Yukon Variable Power Spotting Scope: 16-32x50, 20-50x50, and 20-50x50 WA. All models share a common objective lens diameter of 50 mm, which is crucial for light gathering and image brightness.

  • 16-32x50 Model:

    • Magnification: 16-32x
    • Field of view @ 1000 yd./m: 148 ft / 45 m
    • Length: 9 inches / 235 mm
    • Weight: 25 oz / 0.7 kg
  • 20-50x50 Model:

    • Magnification: 20-50x
    • Field of view @ 1000 yd./m: 115 ft / 35 m
    • Length: 9 inches / 240 mm
    • Weight: 25 oz / 0.7 kg
  • 20-50x50 WA Model (Wide Angle):

    • Magnification: 20-50x
    • Field of view @ 1000 yd./m: 145 ft / 44 m
    • Length: 9 inches / 240 mm
    • Weight: 25 oz / 0.7 kg

All models maintain a compact body, approximately 9 inches long, making them highly portable. The consistent weight across models (25 oz / 0.7 kg) further emphasizes their lightweight design. The "WA" designation for the 20-50x50 WA model indicates a wider angle of view compared to the standard 20-50x50 model, offering a broader perspective at similar magnifications.

Usage Features:

The Yukon Variable Power Spotting Scope is designed for straightforward operation.

  1. Preparation: Users should first remove the scope from its carrying case and take off the protective lens caps before use.
  2. Power Adjustment: The zoom mechanism allows users to rotate it to their desired magnification power. This flexibility is key for adapting to different observation distances and detail requirements.
  3. Focusing: After setting the magnification, the eyepiece can be adjusted until the image comes into sharp focus. The manual notes that at higher magnifications, a tripod may be necessary to control unwanted image vibration, which can otherwise hinder clear viewing.
  4. Portability: The compact 9-inch body makes the scope easy to transport and handle in various field conditions.
  5. Optional Accessories: The availability of an optional tripod/car window mount kit enhances the scope's versatility, providing stable viewing platforms for extended observation periods or when precise aiming is required.

Maintenance Features:

The Yukon spotting scope is designed for durability and low maintenance, but specific care instructions are provided to ensure its longevity and optimal performance.

  1. Body Cleaning: The rubber-coated body of the scope should be cleaned with a cloth using a small amount of rubber protectant. This helps maintain the integrity and appearance of the protective coating.
  2. Optics Cleaning: When cleaning the optical lenses, a light coating of lens cleaning solution should be applied to a cotton cloth. It is crucial not to pour lens cleaner directly onto the lens itself, as this could potentially damage the coatings or leave residues. Gentle cleaning is recommended to avoid scratching the delicate lens surfaces.
  3. Condensation Management: Condensation may form on the lens when the scope is brought in from a cold environment. This is a common phenomenon and is expected to dissipate within approximately one hour. Users should avoid attempting to wipe off condensation immediately, as this could smear the moisture and temporarily impair vision.
  4. Water Resistance: The scope is water-resistant but not waterproof. This means it can withstand splashes or light rain, but it should not be submerged in water. Submersion could lead to internal damage not covered by the warranty.
  5. Durability: The overall design emphasizes durability, aiming for a maintenance-free experience under normal usage conditions.

Limited Warranty:

Kalinka Optics Warehouse provides a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the original date of purchase. The warranty requires satisfactory proof of purchase for any service. It explicitly states that the warranty is void if the equipment has been altered, tampered with, modified, abused, mishandled, or subjected to unauthorized repairs. Misuse, neglect, or abnormal use are not covered. The manufacturer's sole obligation under the warranty is to repair or replace defective products or parts. Kalinka Optics Warehouse disclaims responsibility for lost profits, general, specific, direct, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty or the use/inability to use their products. This comprehensive warranty statement outlines the terms and conditions for service and clarifies the scope of coverage for the Yukon Variable Power Spotting Scope.
