    • Energy: 0.95 kWh
    • Water: 49 litres

The appliance complies with EEC 73/23 (Low Voltage Directive) and 89/336 (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications.

Usage Features

The washing machine offers a range of features for user convenience and optimal washing results:

  • Control Panel: Includes ON/OFF button, MAINS-ON light, FABRICS button (for programme selection), TEMPERATURE button, SPIN SPEED button (with RINSE HOLD option), OPTIONS buttons (PREWASH, SUPER RINSE, EXTRA QUICK, HALF LOAD, 40AA), START/PAUSE button, SKIP/RESET button, and programme phase indicator lights.
  • Programme Selection: Users can choose programmes based on fabric type (Cottons, Synthetics, Delicates, Wool) and adjust temperature and spin speed.
  • Temperature Control: Allows selection of temperatures from 30°C to 95°C, with specific maximums for different fabric types (95°C for cotton, 60°C for synthetics, 40°C for delicates and wool).
  • Spin Speed Control: Adjustable spin speeds up to 1400 rpm (depending on model), with a RINSE HOLD option to prevent creasing.
  • Options:
    • PREWASH: For heavily soiled laundry.
    • 40AA: Prolongs washing time for lightly or normally soiled laundry.
    • HALF LOAD: Reduces water consumption for smaller loads of cottons or linens.
  • Door Locked Light: Indicates when the door is locked during operation. The door can be opened during a cycle if certain conditions (temperature, water level, drum movement) are met, or after a 3-minute delay if the machine is switched off.
  • Child Safety Feature: A special device inside the door prevents small children from being trapped. It can be activated by rotating a button clockwise and disabled by rotating it anti-clockwise.
  • Balance Control Device: Ensures machine stability during spinning by redistributing the wash load. If the load is unevenly distributed, the machine may not spin sufficiently, requiring manual redistribution and re-selection of a spin programme.
  • ECO Valve: Ensures total use of detergent and reduces water consumption.
  • Automatic Cooling: Wash water is cooled to 60°C before draining (for 95°C programme) to reduce thermal shock and prevent creasing.
  • Audible Signal: Indicates the end of a cycle and can be deactivated/reactivated by pressing TEMPERATURE and SPIN SPEED buttons simultaneously.
  • Emergency Emptying: Instructions are provided for manually draining water if the machine fails to discharge.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the appliance's longevity and performance:

  • Descaling: Periodic use of water softening powder is recommended to prevent lime deposits, especially in hard water areas.
  • After Each Wash: Leave the door slightly ajar to prevent mould and stagnant smells and preserve the door seal.
  • Maintenance Wash: Run a hot cotton wash programme with an empty drum and normal detergent (powder) regularly to remove residues.
  • External Cleaning: Clean the exterior cabinet with soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
  • Detergent Dispenser Drawer:
    • Regular cleaning is required.
    • Remove the drawer by pressing the catch, flush under a tap, and remove accumulated powder.
    • The top part of the additive compartment can be removed for easier cleaning.
  • Drawer Recess: Clean the recess with a small brush after removing the drawer to ensure all detergent residue is removed.
  • Pump Cleaning:
    • Inspect the pump if the machine doesn't empty/spin or makes unusual noises during draining.
    • Instructions include disconnecting power, opening the pump door, draining water via an emergency hose, removing the pump cover, and clearing any objects from the impeller.
    • A warning is given about hot water in the pump during a wash cycle.
  • Water Inlet Filter Cleaning: Clean periodically, especially in hard water areas, to prevent clogging. Instructions include turning off the water tap, unscrewing the inlet hose, and cleaning the filter with a brush.
  • Anti-Freezing Measures: If the machine is in an area where temperatures drop below 0°C, specific steps are provided to drain all water from the machine to prevent freezing and damage. After performing these steps, 2 litres of water must be poured into the main wash compartment and a drain programme run to activate the ECO valve.
