Function Description
The Zanussi cooker hood is designed for domestic use above hobs, cookers, and similar cooking devices to extract smoke, steam, and cooking odors from the kitchen. It features multiple fan speeds and integrated lighting to illuminate the cooking surface.
Important Technical Specifications
- Models: ZHB92670XA, ZHB62670XA
- Minimum Distance from Hob: At least 65 cm from the hob surface where pans stand, unless otherwise specified in installation instructions.
- Electrical Connection: Must be earthed if the symbol is not on the rating plate. Requires an isolating device for direct connection to the power supply, complying with overvoltage category III.
- Lighting: Supplied with an LED lamp and separate control gear (LED driver), replaceable by a technician only.
- Vacuum Generation: When operating with other appliances, the maximum vacuum generated in the room should not exceed 0.04 mbar to ensure good air ventilation and prevent backflow of gases.
Usage Features
The control panel includes buttons for:
- Lamp (1): Turns the lights on and off. The hood's light operates independently of other hood functions.
- First Speed / Off (2): Activates the motor at the first speed level. A second press turns off the appliance.
- Second Speed (3): Activates the motor at the second speed level.
- Third Speed (4): Activates the motor at the third speed level.
Recommended Speed Usage:
- First Speed (Vo-1): Suitable for heating up food and cooking with covered pots.
- Second Speed (V2): Recommended for cooking with covered pots on multiple cooking zones or burners, and gentle frying.
- Third Speed (V3): Ideal for boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid, or cooking on multiple cooking zones or burners.
Operating the Hood:
- Press the first speed button (Vo-1) to switch on the appliance.
- Change the speed by pressing the desired button (V2 or V3).
- To turn off the appliance, press the first speed button (Vo-1) again.
- It is recommended to leave the hood operating for approximately 15 minutes after cooking to ensure complete extraction of residual odors and steam.
Maintenance Features
General Cleaning:
- Clean the appliance regularly with a soft cloth to prevent deterioration of the surface material.
- Use warm water and a mild, neutral detergent for cleaning.
- Do not use abrasive detergents, brushes, steam cleaners, water spray, harsh abrasive cleaners, or sharp metal scrapers on the surface.
- After cooking, allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning to avoid stains. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towels.
- Clean the interior of the appliance with a cloth.
Grease Filter Cleaning:
- Grease filters should be cleaned regularly, at least every 2 months, to remove fat deposits and prevent fire risk.
- Filters can be washed in a dishwasher on a low temperature and short cycle. Discoloration may occur but does not affect performance.
- To clean:
- Press the handle of the mounting clip on the filter panel underneath the hood.
- Slightly tilt the front of the filter downwards, then pull it out.
- Clean the filters using a sponge with non-abrasive detergents or in a dishwasher.
- To remount, follow the steps in reverse order.
Charcoal Filter Replacement (if applicable):
- The charcoal filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated.
- It must be replaced approximately every 4-6 months of operation, or more frequently with heavy usage.
- To replace:
- Remove the grease filters from the appliance.
- Press the front edge of the charcoal filter into the slot towards the bottom part, then slightly tilt the front downwards to remove.
- Install a new filter by performing the steps in reverse order.
- It is necessary to replace charcoal filters at least every four months.
Lamp Replacement:
- The LED lamp and its control gear can only be replaced by a qualified technician. Refer to the "Service" section in the "Safety Instructions" for malfunction. Ensure the appliance is switched off before replacing the lamp to avoid electric shock.
- Read all supplied instructions carefully before installation and use.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for injuries or damage resulting from incorrect installation or usage.
- Keep instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference.
- Children and Vulnerable People Safety:
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if supervised or instructed and understand hazards.
- Children under 8 years or with extensive disabilities must be continuously supervised.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Keep packaging away from children and dispose of it appropriately.
- Children shall not carry out cleaning or user maintenance without supervision.
- General Safety:
- Intended for domestic use above cooking devices.
- Disconnect from power supply before maintenance.
- Accessible parts can become hot during use.
- Use only supplied fixing screws or recommended screws.
- Install in a safe and suitable place.
- Do not use adhesives to fix the appliance.
- Ensure good air ventilation in the room to avoid backflow of gases from other appliances.
- Ventilation openings must not be blocked, and air must not be conveyed into ducts used for other appliances' smoke/steam exhaust.
- Do not damage the mains cable; contact an Authorised Service Centre or electrician for replacement.
- If directly connected to power supply, electrical installation must have an isolating device for complete disconnection at all poles.
- Do not flambé under the appliance.
- Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials/vapours.
- Do not use a steam cleaner.
- Clean grease filters regularly (every 2 months) to prevent fire risk.
- Do not use the appliance as a storage surface.
- Do not use magnifying glasses, binoculars, or similar optical devices to look directly at the lighting.
- Installation:
- Only a qualified person must install the appliance.
- Do not install or use a damaged appliance.
- Follow installation instructions.
- Always use safety gloves and enclosed footwear when moving the appliance as it is heavy.
- Remove all packaging, labelling, and protective film before installation.
- Do not install exhaust air into a wall cavity unless designed for that purpose.
- Electrical Connection:
- All electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician.
- Ensure rating plate parameters are compatible with mains power supply.
- If the symbol is not on the rating plate, the appliance must be earthed.
- Use a correctly installed shockproof socket.
- Do not let the mains cable tangle.
- Do not use multi-plug adapters or extension cables.
- Do not connect the mains plug if the socket is loose.
- Always pull the mains plug, not the cable, to disconnect.
- Shock protection of live and insulated parts must be fastened securely.

- Disposal:
- Contact municipal authority for disposal information.
- Disconnect from mains supply.
