This document is a user manual for the Zanussi ZWH 8100 SE washing machine.
Function Description:
The Zanussi ZWH 8100 SE is a domestic washing machine designed for washing machine-washable fabrics. It offers a variety of washing programmes tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, including Cotton, Synthetics, Delicates, Wool, Handwash, Lingerie, Silk, and Jeans. Special programmes like Soak, Rinses, Drain, and Spin are also available. The machine features a detergent dispenser drawer with compartments for prewash, main wash, and liquid additives (fabric softener, starch). An ECO valve system is incorporated for optimal detergent use. The appliance is equipped with a control panel that includes a programme selector dial, temperature button, spin reduction button, Easy Iron button, Extra Rinse button, Delay Start button, START/PAUSE button, and Time Manager buttons. It also features a display that shows information such as temperature, spin value, option icons, and programme duration. Acoustic signals are provided for the end of a cycle or in case of a fault. A door safety button is included to prevent children or pets from climbing into the drum.

Usage Features:
- Programme Selection: A programme selector dial allows users to choose from various washing cycles.
- Temperature Selection: A dedicated button allows increasing or decreasing the washing temperature. Cold wash options are available.
- Spin Reduction: Reduces the spin speed, with options for "No spin" (eliminates all spin phases and increases rinses) and "Rinse Hold" (water of the last rinse is not emptied to prevent creasing).
- Easy Iron: Reduces creasing by performing additional rinses and reducing the maximum spin speed.
- Extra Rinse: Increases the quantity of water used for rinsing.
- Delay Start: Allows delaying the start of a programme by up to 20 hours.
- Time Manager: Buttons to modify the automatically proposed programme duration, allowing adjustment based on soil level (Intensive, Normal, Daily, Light, Quick, Super Quick). Not available with Economy (Eco) programmes.
- Start/Pause: Initiates or interrupts a selected programme.
- Door Lock: The door locks once a programme starts and remains locked if the water level is too high or the machine is heating. It unlocks automatically at the end of the programme or after draining.
- Child Safety: A door safety button prevents accidental opening by children or pets.
- Detergent Usage: Recommendations for using advised quantities of detergent and fabric softener, with a "MAX" mark in the dispenser drawer to prevent overfilling. Guidance on adjusting detergent quantity based on load size, soil level, and water hardness.
- Loading Laundry: Instructions to empty pockets, fasten buttons and zips, avoid washing frayed/torn articles, and pre-treat stains. Underwired bras should not be machine washed.
- Unpacking and Installation: Detailed instructions for removing transit bolts and packaging, levelling the machine, and connecting water inlet and drain hoses.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser Drawer: The drawer can be removed and flushed under running water to remove accumulated powder.
- Cleaning the Pump: The pump should be inspected regularly. This involves opening the pump door, unscrewing and cleaning the filter, and removing any foreign objects.
- Cleaning the Water Inlet Filters: Filters in the water inlet hose and valve should be checked and cleaned with a stiff brush.
- External Cleaning: The exterior of the appliance should be cleaned with soap and water, then dried thoroughly.
- Descaling: Regular use of water softening powder is recommended in areas with hard water to prevent limescale build-up.
- Emergency Emptying Out: Instructions are provided for manually draining water from the machine in case of a problem, including using the drain pump filter.
- Frost Precautions: Steps to drain remaining water from the inlet hose and drain pump if the machine is installed in a location where temperatures may drop below 0°C.
