LSM 980 – Startup and Shudtown MFPL BioOptics - Light Microscopy
Startup
1. Turn the Main Switch (1) in ON position
2. Turn the Laser key (2) clockwise in vertical position (labeled "Laser")
3. Push the Components switch (3) in ON position
4. Power up the PC (4). Login into the "user" account and start ZEN
5. Press the Load position button on the touch panel of the microscope

Turn the microscope's main switch to the ON position.

Activate Laser Key

Turn the laser key clockwise to the vertical 'Laser' position.

Engage Components Switch

Push the components switch to the ON position.

Power PC and Launch ZEN Software

Power up the PC, log in as 'user', and launch the ZEN software.

Press Load Position Button

Press the 'Load position' button on the microscope's touch panel.

Zeiss LSM 980 Shutdown Procedure

Close ZEN and Prepare System

Close the ZEN software and press the Load position button on the touch panel.

Clean Immersion Objectives

Clean immersion objectives using lens cleaning paper after use.

Logout for Next User

Log out from the Windows session to leave the system for the next user.

Perform Full System Shutdown

Shut down the PC, turn off switches and laser key, then cover the microscope.
