CABINET
ENCLOSURE
When
servicing
these
units
(or
for
that
matter
most
speaker
enclosures)
Several
precautions
must
be
taken:
A.
When
removing
the
back,
be
careful
when
handling
the
acoustical
pads
(they
may
tear
easily).
B.
All
speakers
must
be
securely
fastened
to
prevent
leaks
and
rattles.
C.
If
the
front
grille
is
removed,
be
certain
that
the
baffle
is
tightly
captivated
by
the
mounting
screws
when
reinstalled.
D.
When
replacing
the
back,
be
certain
that
the
acoustic
pads
don
t
interfere
with
the
port.
E.
The
screws
holding
the
back
must
be
secured
by
using
a
sufficient
amount
of
torque
in
order
to
prevent
air
leaks.
Normal
positioning
of
this
enclosure
in
a
listening
room
would
be
near
a
wall.
While
this
would
be
normal,
in
fact,
desirable,
caution
must
be
taken
to
avoid
placing
this
enclosure
in
any
position
that
would
obstruct
the
port,
as
this
would
result
in
degraded
bass
response.
The
desired
positioning
would
be
one
which
allows
at
least
1%
inches
between
the
back
of
the
enclosure
and
the
wall
of
the
room
(or
similar
obstruction).
