& Rear Fuselage Assembly
This manual has been prepared for assembly of the rear fuselage supplied with match drilled parts. This
photo assembly manual is intended as a supplement to the drawings. If there is any discrepancy between
this manual and the drawings, the drawings supersede this manual. For more information on building
standards and allowable tolerances see “Construction Standards for Zenair Light Aircraft” available from
Zenith Aircraft Co.

Summary

Rear Fuselage Assembly Guide

Install Top Skin L Angles and Side Skin

Install lateral L angles to the top skin and cleco the rear side skin to the frame.

Attach Diagonal Bracing and Side Skins

Cleco side skins to frames and install diagonal L angles between H.T. frames.

Install Opposite Side Skins and Longerons

Install remaining side skins and cleco longerons onto the top of the side skins.

Fit Top Framing, Uprights, and Channels

Attach L angles, uprights, and side channels between the H.T. frames and side skins.

Assemble Rear Top Channel Structure

Cleco the rear top channel angle to the rear top channel and the top channel.

Connect Rear Wing Attachment and Top Skin

Trim longerons, attach rear wing attachment, and cleco the top skin to the fuselage.

Install Top Doubler and Rudder Hinge Supports

Cleco the top doubler to the top skin and attach initial rudder hinge plates.

Finalize Rudder Hinge Plate Installation

Trim longerons and cleco rudder hinge plates to the bottom and top skins.
